"And I need to get used to your tail hitting me without any warning," Ross adds.

"Yeah, you might as well do that," Natalie tries to keep herself from laughing at him.

"You're trying not to laugh at me, aren't you?" Ross asks, passing a clear pond.

"Maybe, maybe not," Natalie tells him. They approach a treehouse, perched in a big tree.

"Are we staying in a treehouse?" Ross questions her, and Natalie nods.

"Yeah, I grew up in this treehouse that I have built," Natalie answers his question. She uses the ladder to climb up to the treehouse.

"You did a good job on building it." Ross compliments her, as he starts to use the ladder to climb up.

"Good, it took me a while to build it," Natalie tells him.

"You say you grew up in this treehouse, but how old were you when you built this treehouse?" Ross curiously asks.

"I was just turning a year old when I built it. I also built it in the winter side," Natalie tells him. Ross's eyes widen.

"Damn, you were smart and brave when you were a kid. Any parent would love to have you as their kid," Ross comments, but Natalie frowns. Natalie and Ross enter the treehouse when they reach it. Ross doesn't see the frown on her face.

"Your parents must be proud of you, and how you have become over the years," Ross tells her, but Natalie's frown grows bigger. Natalie walks towards the wooden chair and sits down. Ross sits down on the bench.

"I don't have parents, I grew up alone," Natalie scowls. Ross finally notices the look on her face, and the way she says her statement.

"I'm sorry; I didn't know you were an orphan," Ross apologizes. He feels guilty for not noticing the frown on her face right away.

"That's alright. You didn't know about me being an orphan," Natalie tells him, and her tail rests on her lap. "Even though, I basically said it to those humans that were bullying him," she thinks.

"Yeah, but I made you feel uncomfortable when I talked about parents," Ross tells her, but Natalie shrugs her shoulders.

"Don't worry about it. I'll be fine," Natalie miserably sighs.

"Something tells me you left the island to go look for some answers to your questions," Ross mentions and Natalie nods.

"I've been searching for an exceedingly long time for some answers that I have been looking for. But so far, I've found nothing," Natalie says, looking down, miserably.

"What have you been looking for? May I ask?" Ross asks, seeing her frown go deeper if that's possible.

"To see if there is any other demon around and see if I can learn anything about my species from them," Natalie says, longingly.

Ross feels bad that she doesn't know about her own species and hasn't met another demon after all this time of being alive.

"Maybe one day, you will find the answers," Ross supports her.

"Don't bother to try and help me. I'm starting to lose hope on continuing the search when it's clear to me that I won't get what I want. So, I might as well give up," Natalie loses faith in her main life's goal.

"You can't possibly give up now. You still have time," Ross tries to get her spirit back up, but Natalie shakes her head.

"What's the point to continue? I might as well give up on this search before it's too late to enjoy myself," Natalie says, closing her eyes. She leans against the wooden chair.
