"You know, we should probably give her a name.." Legolas said.   Everyone agreed.  "How about the name Eleanor?" Gimli said.

I replied, "How about I choose my own name please?"   Legolas smiled and said, "Alright then. "

I wondered what I could name myself.  I thought of many names.  Suddenly I found the perfect name, Thaliana.  I said, "Thaliana.  Thaliana will be my name."  Everyone thought it suited me.  Everyone except for Legolas and I left.

"Before the day's over, you're going to have to learn to fight."  Legolas said.  He led me outside where there were some targets and dummies.  He held up a simple bow and a sword just my size.

"Would you prefer a bow or a sword Thalia?" Legolas asked.  "I want to try both."  I said and picked the bow first.  I slung the the quiver over my shoulder and grabbed an arrow from it.

Without waiting for Legolas to tell me what to do, I shot at a target and hit it dead center.  I shot at the rest of the targets and each time I hit my mark.  Legolas was clearly shocked.

"H-how did you do that on f-first try! " He stammered.  I shrugged.  I gave the bow and quiver of arrows back to him and took the sword and shield.  The sword didn't seem quite right in my grip but it would do.

I went over to the dummies and hacked and slashed.  I ducked and rolled as if I was in a real battle.  Pretty soon there were dummy heads and limbs all over the place.  I grinned at Legolas who was shocked and surprised.

"Sorry 'bout the dummies.." I said.  "You seem like a natural at fighting Thalia.." he said.  "Yeah, it looks like it.  Course, they were standing still though.  I'm not sure if I would be good at it if they were moving.." I replied.

The next day we packed up and left Rivendell.  We traveled a long time.  Finally we stopped and set up camp on a sort of rocky terrain.  There Boromir trained with Merry and Pippin.  I looked around the place and saw a black thing.

I pointed at that and asked Aragorn, "What is that?" Boromir taken notice of it said, "It's moving fast, I don't think it is a cloud.."

I said, "It looks like a flock of birds.."  Gandalf replied grimly, "That's exactly what it is."  and muttered something I didn't catch.  As the birds got nearer Gandalf shouted, "HIDE!"

Everyone scurried around and hid.  I ducked under a big rock.  I saw the birds go by.

When they were gone and everyone came out of hiding Gandalf said, "Sauronman's  spies."  We packed up and left.

We went towards the snowy mountains and soon we were waist high in snow.  About fifteen minutes of trying to walk in the four feet deep snow we heard a evil voice that was chanting something.

A few moments later an avalanche happened.  After it was over we were covered in snow.

When we were done brushing off the snow, Boromir said something about going to someplace called Rohan.  Then Gimli said something about the Mines of Noria or was it called Moria?  I didn't hear too well.

Gandalf said, "We should let our ringbearer choose where we should go."  We all looked at Frodo and he thought for a moment then said, "The mines of Moria."

  "Very well."
