THE HUNGER GAMES=
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️About:
Could you survive on your own in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning?
In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts, The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before - and survival, for her , is second nature, Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender, but if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.
My Review:
As my first time reading a fantasy type book, I loved The Hunger Games. I loved reading about Katniss's journey to live and win The Hunger Games, meeting her friends along the way, especially Peeta. I love the bond that Katniss and Peeta have, it stays all through The Hunger Games Trilogy, but it starts in this book. My mom out of all people got me to read this series and I'm glad she did, I was very hesitant to read it because I normally read romance books and not fantasy, but I loved this series being my introduction to fantasy books. It makes me want to try reading the Harry Potter series again, I didn't like it the first time I read it but I might try reading it again. Suzanne Collins does a good job at really making her characters relatable, I found Katniss Everdeen relatable to me in real life. Overall, as my first ever fantasy book ever read, it gets my 5 star rating because it makes me want to read more fantasy books from here on out. Though, I'm mostly sticking to romance still. 5 stars in my book for the amazing intro.
CATCHING FIRE=
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
About:Sparks are Igniting, Flames are Spreading, And The Capitol wants Revenge.
Against all odds, Katniss has won the Hunger Games. She and fellow District 12 tribute Peeta Mellark are miraculously still alive. Katniss should be relieved, happy even. After all, she has returned to her family and her longtime friend, Gale. Yet nothing is the way Katniss wishes it to be. Gale holds her icy distance. Peeta has turned his back on her completely. And there are whispers of a rebellion against the Capitol - a rebellion that Katniss and Peeta may had helped create. Much to her shock, Katniss has fueled an unrest she's afraid she cannot stop. And what scares her even more is that she's not entirely convinced she should try. As time draws near for Katniss and Peeta to visit the districts on the Capitol's cruel Victory Tour, the stakes are higher than ever. If they can't prove, without a shadow of a doubt, that they are lost in their love for each other, the consequences will be horrifying.
My Review:
As the second book in The Hunger Games Trilogy, I loved it. Not as much as the first one but I still loved it regardless. The one complaint I had was the fact that Katniss and Peeta did have a small falling out in this one, eventually though, they got back together which made me happy. My god though this book was emotional af, when Gale died, I was crying my eyes out. I felt like I was in Katniss's shoes. The fact that Peeta almost got killed off completely right in front of Katniss got me crying for her as-well. This book was a lot more emotional than The Hunger Games but that was because there was a lot more deaths and almost deaths in this one. Which made me feel terrible for Katniss who had to go through all of that first hand. The four star rating is because of the small falling out, but otherwise, this book was almost just as perfect as the first novel in the series. I'm really starting to love Katniss and Peeta together, they are great for each other in my opinion. Overall, really emotional follow up and just hoping things will get better for Katniss.
MOCKINGJAY= Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
About:
My name is Katniss Everdeen. Why am I not dead? I should be dead.
Katniss Everdeen, girl on fire, has survived, even though her home has been destroyed. Gale has escaped. Katniss's family is safe. Peeta has been captured by the Capitol. District 13 really does exist. There are rebels. There are new leaders. A revolution is unfolding. It is by design that Katniss was rescued from the arena in the cruel and haunting Quarter Quell, and it is by design that she has been long part of the revolution without knowing it. District 13 has come out of the shadows and is plotting to overthrow the Capitol. Everyone, it seems, has had a hand in the carefully laid plans - except Katniss. The success of the rebellion hinges on Katniss's willingness to be a pawn, to accept responsibility for countless lives, and to change the course of the future of Panem. To do this, she must put aside her feelings of anger and distrust. She must become the rebels' Mockingjay - no matter what the personal cost.
My Review:
As the final book of the Trilogy, this one was the worst one for me. It took me forever to read and I just didn't feel this one like the other 2. I still love Mockingjay but not as much as Catching Fire and The Hunger Games. I still love Katniss and I understand why she does the things she does but I just don't like the decisions she makes. I love though how at the end of the book, Katniss and Peeta end up having children together and they are telling them about The Hunger Games and what they went through so that they understand what The Hunger Games were. Since, The Hunger Games won't continue for their kids, which makes me happy. While this book wasn't the best, I'm still giving it 3 stars for the amazing ending, and for an amazing end to the trilogy. It makes me sad that I finished this Trilogy but it was worth my every second, Overall, I would reread this entire series again when I get the chance. I loved this series so much.
Wow, this is the longest review I've written. Writing the about for each book took me forever lol, they are really long. This is my last review for today, See you all tomorrow or Sunday.
