Keefe stood at the entrance of the beach house(A/N: I don't know if they use this term, or know of it, but I'm using it cause I can't describe the Shores of Solace's beach house any other way.), not wanting to go inside. But, after staring out into the sunset over the water, he convinced himself that if he didn't go inside to sleep, then he wouldn't be taking Tam on a date tomorrow. So, he shoved the door open, went in, closed it behind him quietly, and almost ran to his room. He just couldn't wait for tomorrow. "Just WHERE have YOU been?" He jumped so high at the voice, that he was sure if he'd gone any higher, he would've been the one stuck in the chandelier instead of Fitz. His eyes flicked to his bed, where the voice had come from, and he turned the light on, just to find the one and only Lord Bossypants, his father. Keefe glared at him, wishing he couldn't feel the huge blob of anger, the small speck of worry, and the enormous circle of disappointment. "A friend's. But why would you care? I mean, you come here to ''get away'', right? So why care about me if you wanna escape?" His father stood, slicking his hair back, and said, "Because you are my son, Keefe, and I need to make sure nothing happens–" "Like what? You think I'm gonna run off to the Neverseen again?! You think I'm gonna come crying to you if something goes wrong in life? Because, honestly, my friends are better than you! They actually care, they actually talk, and they actually help–" But a sharp pain exploded in his throat, making him gasp for air, and the last thing he remembered seeing was Ro walking in, growling and scowling.
