Kimiko woke up a couple of hours before sunset to the smell of her favorite breakfast being made, her father displayed a full buffet of so many delicious options that her eyes just sparkled while her mouth watered
"Good morning Kimi" he says walking into the dining room behind her
"Why don't you sit down and I'll make your plate" he lightly pushes her shoulder forward leading her to the table
He sat directly across from her like normal with a relaxed face, just taking in the moment with his eyes closed while she rambled on telling him about her day at the aquarium, he wasn't aware of this yet but she actually dislikes it when he does not look at her while she talking.
To him he finds his features intimidating so he believes hes doing her a favor by keeping his eyes shut, but she has never once requested for him to do this it was simply his own views upon himself.
She was going on and on until she looked up from her plate and noticed his eyes are closed. Tilting her head to the side
"Papa are you asleep?"
"Of course not"
"Well then... why are your eyes closed?"
"Because i...." He sighs out of slightly annoyed her question came unexpectedly and he didn't exactly know how to answer it
"I don't want you to feel frightened by my features..."
"Why would I be frightened? I have the most beautiful father in the world" she says so nonchalant and innocently
"You're just being kind and..." he pauses for a moment
"You're really not afraid of me?"
"No.. why would I be?" she shrugs while eating cheerfully
"Even though i..."
"No" she states again abruptly interrupting him
"You know sometimes I feel like you were meant to find me and I was meant to be with you don't you think? I mean sure you're a demon but you saved me instead of eating me... that's gotta count for something right? If that isn't love at first sight then I don't know what is?" She finally stops rambling because he'd been silent for a moment and looks up from her plate over at him again only to find him staring at her with all his eyes open now, the right side of his face swelled with tears in each eye so after no response she jumped out of her seat and rushed to his side
"Why're you sad?? did I say something bad and hurt you?" She asks reaching for his arm to climb into his lap
"No actually, its the opposite. I may have had some doubts before, so I guess these are actually tears of.... joy."
"Ok.... Can we train today then?!"
"Ah you know I love more than anything is watching you get stronger, but I actually have things I need to tend to today and tomorrow so I'm taking you to the entertainment district to be with Daki"
