Wuxian was tired. He was tired of living like this. Tired of listening to the words the people talk around him. Tired of the beatings he had to take of the zidian. But the small hope that he will be able to find his mate is stronger than the physical and mental abuse he's getting by the man and his family who promised him to give him a family which is a horrible joke wuxian ever heard. He's now so sure that he will leave them if he gets a chance and will never look at them.
Who will look when a sect leader who promised to protect him didn't even tried to protect him from his own wife's physical and mental abuse. When the young mistress who was so good to him the day he came now thinks he's breaking her family and avoid him in every way. When the young master of the sect who said that he will be his shidi thinks that he is a threat to his throne and insult him every possible way along with his mother.
He was 8 years old when he came here. They were nice to him except madam yu for 2 years until he developed his golden core faster than the heir of the sect and then the misery started. Until now only the madam of the sect tortured him but now that he's 15 everyone else just getting on his nerves. That his fox is scratching him and ready to pounce on the people who is insulting his parents. They are not even leaving them and it's takes every ounce of patience for wuxian to control it.
He don't want them to know about his fox form cause they will surely use him for their purposes. He knows that jiang wanyin wants to control his life and wants him to help him like his father did to the jiang sect leader but he will never let him do that. Even if they don't know about it the sect leader always reminds him that he's raising him just so he can shield him and his family which upsets wuxian more than anything and that's the sole reason he wants to leave them and never look back at them.
But he was waiting for his mate. The special one who also has a fox form and was destined for him. Only him. And he had a clue of his mate but he's waiting for the right time. He trained himself in the darkness of the night to be strong. So That he can protect his mate, his omega.
In cloud recess :
Xichen was looking at his brother who was playing his guqin. He knows his brother was special and he also knows about his fox form but he don't want anyone to know about it not even his uncle who is strict on wangji. During the visit they get every month to talk to his mother he and wangji went and his brother slept peacefully in their mother's lap who always craved for it as he was the younger.

But xichen never left him he learned about wangji's words through his eyes and he mastered it. He also told him about the mate and fox thing. He was happy that his brother looked happy about the mate thing. From there they became close and xichen never let his uncle words reach his little brother's heart. He announced wangji as an alpha and no one questioned it as he had the aura and the strength of an alpha.
Wangji became more silent over the years but he was there for his brother and now that he's 15 xichen knows that his mate will make a presence. He planned through everything and he's sure that he don't want wangji to live here in cloud recesses with 3000 rules and his uncle always controlling his life. He made wangji more silent by rules and that pissed xichen. It's became more when he said wangji was alpha and his uncle controlled him like a puppet and the reason is he's trying to make wangji not follow their father's path which is ridiculous.
Cause xichen knows his father was wrong in every way even if he's small he had the brain and maturity. So he knows his mother was the victim of the murder but the so called rules made his mother a prisoner. She died because she was a free bird and his father caged her. The suffocation and the accuse of murder, the injustice made his mother die and he clearly saw that in every visit.
He was small to investigate about it but he knows the truth about the murder and the cries of her mother when he sneaked in her house was the proof. His respect towards his father vanished when he didn't investigate about it and never voiced out anything against the accusations. His heart broke when he left him and his little brother and went into seclusion. His baby brother never once looked at his father as he never made a presence in front of him. He loathed the rules, the elders and his father and uncle.
But nevertheless he became a father to wangji and he vowed to himself that he will protect him and his happiness from everyone. After all he was his baby who smiled through every training and every punishment to keep him strong. To tell him that he's fine. But that smile also vanished with her mother and he became a shell. So xichen will do every thing to make his brother happy and treasure everything that makes his brother smile.
