A/N: Can we stop being needlessly misogynistic towards Sally now? Because I am very reluctant to update my fics if my comments are just going to be people being terrible to a female character (who is well established as being attracted to women) for no reason. Thank you!

Thud. Thud. Thud.

That sound echoed throughout Wilbur's room as he stared up at the ceiling.

The sound of nails being hammered into his coffin.

Or, rather, the sound of nails being hammered into his door to fit a lock to the outside.

"Stop being mad with me," Technoblade said.

"I'm not mad at you," Wilbur snapped back.

Technoblade sighed, the hammering noise stopped for a moment, "I can see you glaring at the ceiling."

Wilbur was pissed. Not necessarily at Technoblade. Although, the betrayal of his brother participating in his 'punishment' over helping with the village repairs did have a rather nasty sting. It was ridiculous that Wilbur was being punished for helping against the fae invasion instead of taking shelter and hiding. Especially since the invasion would have still been going on if Wilbur had decided to take shelter.

"You're locking me up in my room like a child. Worse than that, most children don't get bars attached to their windows and a new lock attached to their door," Wilbur retorted, "I'm being treated like one of the fae you catch."

"Don't say that!" Technoblade moved right into Wilbur's view. "You're better than that! This is just..."

"Just what?!" Wilbur felt a growl in the back of his throat he had to bite down.

"You know Emerald is just worried about your safety. You know how the fae can be," the hunter said.

Wilbur laughed bitterly and pushed himself from the bed, "Yeah, I know. I was the one who got the fae to retreat."

"You don't know that!"

"Like hell I don't! I was there, remember! It's why our father is throwing a fucking fit!"

None of what Wilbur said had been a lie, per se. But Wilbur had no idea what had happened with the fae.

It had all happened so fast. The witch had been overwhelmed by the cacophony of voices from the... shadows? He summoned air to himself so that he could repel the dark magic, though it felt less like he succeeded and more like the magic just decided to leave him alone. When it returned to the pink haired dragon fae, there had been a moment of silence between Wilbur and the fae. And then, the fae called out an order to retreat.

And that was that.

The witch had no idea what made the fae decide to retreat. But he had his suspicions about what had happened based on what he briefly heard. He doesn't know how, but Wilbur thinks that it had something to do with the Unseelie King. He wasn't sure what, but something about his relationship with Q must have had an effect or something that other fae could pick up on. Not to mention that his experience with the Unseelie King had led to him to learn a side of the fae that the hunters weren't used to. That more compassionate side of the fae could have also played apart in their desire to retreat, rather than continue the assault.

"Lapis, this isn't intended to be a punishment," Technoblade said after a moment.

"Right," Wilbur scoffed and tried to turn away.

Technoblade grabbed his arm, "Father just wants to protect you."

"What about what I want?! What about the fact that I ended up facing multiple, high ranking fae and walked away completely uninjured?!" Wilbur growled as he tugged his arm back, "Maybe I want to be more than our father allows me to be! Maybe I'm sick and tired of having my life completely out of my control all for the sake of my safety!"
