Winters P.O.V

It was just a nice day in the orphanage when I heard the bell. I hurried over to Y/n who was in my room chilling with Natalie. "More adopters?" Y/n groaned and I nodded. Suddenly, Mr. Tisal yelled up to us and as the other kids came down. me, y/n and Nat dragged behind, glaring at the visitors. A man, a woman with red hair tied back and another woman with short fire hair and piercing eyes.

We stood in a line as Mr. Tisal had told us to and we stood politely. I tried to send out some waves of bad luck but mysteriously, it bounced back and off the visitors. "Don't" Y/n said messaging me through my mind. I rolled my eyes. "Teens" The short red haired said and I stepped up, glaring at them. "Don't even think about it" I muttered under my breath. I felt the presence of someone lurking around trying to read our minds but I deflected it and hopefully so did y/n and nat.

Unfortunately, the next thing I knew they said "natalie" I grumped and cursed and didn't care that Mr. Tisal had glared at me. "No." I said firmly. Mr. Tisal glared at me but I stood my ground. "Not her, I'm not going anywhere without her" I said firmly. "They can adopt anyone they want.." He said through gritted teeth and led the adopters to his office to fill out forms. 

The moment they left, Nat burst in tears and y/n rushed up to her. "I-I don't want them to take me!" She wailed and sobbed. "It's ok" I soothed with my magic and she stopped crying. I looked up and noticed that the man didn't leave, I glared at him and went back to soothing Natalie. "We can't let them take her, she can't control her magic yet" Y/n hissed quitely and I nodded.

"Basement" I mouthed and we split up. I made my way with Natalie down the stairs, I heard the man say "hey wait!" but I didn't care and pushed nat into the vents. I climbed in after and heard crashing. "Hopefully Y/n took care of him.." I thought and climbed in after Nat. "Nat, listen to me." I said looking at her and I could tell she was scared. The thought of Natalie leaving me and y/n scarred me. I knew she was our cousin and she knew that too but had never particularly thought about it. "Ok, focus your mind" I quietly told her and she slowed down and closed her eyes. "Think of a force field around us, protecting us.." I whispered and crackling started happening as a purple shield surrounded us. "Good" I smiled and focused my powers to hide us with mist.

We had continued climbing and made it out of the vents and I quickly hurried up and spotted y/n as I climbed up the ladder to the roof. "Nat, focus of the wind  and let yourself float up" I called down to her and suddenly I sensed a storm coming. "Nope! Not that strong!" I yelled down. It calmed and I sighed. I lept down picked her up and used one hand to pull myself up to the roof of the 5 story house. "Wh-Wheres y/n?" Nat cried. I hushed her, "SHe's alright" I convinced her but I could sense she was knocked out. 

"Y/n where are yoU?!" I called in my brain trying to form a link between me and her. "I'm- Remember those people who was trying to adopt Nat?" He voice erupted in my brain and I toned it down. "Where are you!?" I asked again and even from here, I could hear her sigh "Adopted? Kidnapped?" She said "I don't know which" Then I could feel the connection snap apart.

Nat started crying again and I sighed patting her back. I knew who took her. "Stark." My mind said and I sent ripples of terror, sorrow, and anger as far as a 60 mile radius making sure Stark knew I was not happy. Nat felt it and she tried her best to send out storms but she was too tired and fell asleep.

I carried and crawled Nat to the small makeshift shed that me and y/n had built 1 year ago for safety. I wrapped Nat in a blanket and fell asleep cradling her.

Y/n POV

I knew the moment I woke, I was in the Stark Tower. Stark had killed my Aunt and I could feel that that woman with short hair had been familiar because she had cursed my mother Captain Of The Onyx, I was destined to be the captain when I turned 15 but I guess now I'm not in the seas, I'n not captain.

I sat up to see 2 avengers staring at me and I rolled my eyes. "Too bad I can't bend the mist like Winter can" I thought and stared back at them. "What?" I asked and they turned towards me since they were talking. "Oh you're awake" The woman said she had blonde hair and looked like black widow except her hair was blonde not red. 

"Hello, can you tell me what your powers are?" She said and I rolled my eyes and snickered. "Ain't gonna tell you anything" I hissed and turned away from them. I waited for them to walk away and they did eventually and finally, I turned around and started looking into my mind. I remembered talking to Winter as I was being dragged here then I lost my connection.

I scanned the cell, which was a smooth white box with a table. 

*Time Skip*

After a few more attempts of the Avengers trying to get me to speak up or tell me anything they got fed up. "JuST Tell uS YoUR NaME" Pietro said speeding in but I ignored him. "We'll set out rats!" Tony threatened but I ignored him. Luckily, he did set out rats and I could tell that the mirror was a one side mirror.

A bunch of rats skittered out of a hole and I set down my book and knelt down. "Hello little guys" I said in a soothing voice. A mouse stopped and looked at me. "Hey, trapped here too?" He asked twitching his whiskers. "Apparently they don't have a way out" I joked in my mind, He snickered so hard that he rolled around and some other rodents around him did the same laughing. I smirked at the mirror where I could still see the Avengers on the other side.
