Tony P.O.V
I don't know what that kid meant when the said 'Earth' and 'Shaking' That kid had texted me thinking I was their BFF named 'Mj'. I flipped through the files in my cabinet of enhanced kids that had ever existed. Suddenly, the red buzzer alerted meaning a meeting from someone. I huffed and slammed the cabinet closed and walked out of my office.
"There have been reports of mini earth quakes around a small part of queens" Steve said slamming his fist down on the table. "Wait-" Nat said cutting him off. "It might be just a mini shake, there might be no emergency" She said. "I'm with Nat!" I called, raising my hand up. "We should at least check, I mean there are 7 households there along with a orphanage" Banner protested. "JARVIS please check the security cams by Forest Avenue Queens" I said to the window.
"Searching for existing cameras" JARVIS's robotic voice answered. "Well, shouldn't we check in person, I mean like those guys I fought with advanced weapons, they might have a ground shaker..?" Peter stammered looking around the table. "Kid we got this!" I reminded him and tossing him a grape juice box. He instantly caught it with his hand and stabbed the straw in the little foil.
"5 Results found" JARVIS suddenly said and the avengers who where talking among themselves shutted up. Steve randomly tapped a video which showed the view of a house. For about 6 minutes the camera showed nothing but a house. Next!" I called politey and the camera switched to show an orphanage.
After 7 minutes still nothing, Wanda was about to call next but I stopped her as the door opened and two girls came out. "Turn up audio please" I said and the audio started playing. "Stay here" I head as the older girl said to a small blonde girl about 7ish and she went back inside. A couple seconds later another girl appeared with the other one and they both followed the oldest away. I noticed something odd and said "Pause" and the video stopped right when the smallest was about to get off the frame.
"There!" Wanda said and pointed at the door. What looks to be plants and shadows blending and moving with them from their former spot. "Next" Pietro said and the video changed again showing the woods. After a few more seconds, the three girls walked into view, "We have to find out what her powers are.." I couldn't see who was talking but I did notice that the tallest girls hand lit up in light and touched the smallests forehead. "Well lets start testing you" the middle one said suddenly, she perked up and turned around then the camera shut down. SUddenly, I saw the time and it read 2:59 which was the exact time I had texted the kid.
"Hey.. isn't that the exact time the kid texted me?" Wanda said warily touching her phone. Clint pulled out his phone and scrolled up from the texts of the gc. "YEah" He muttered and zoomed in so we could all see. "Here!" A voice called from the audio and wind blew whatever was blocking the camera off just in time to see two bodies come to life.
The one that was sitting on the tree said "Well?" suddenly the smaller girl started moving again and walked towards her. "Force fields and wind control" The oldest said casually before checking her watch. The video stopped, "Whoa say what now?" Clint said looking at the screen. "It seems like they have powers" Natasha exclaimed glancing at me. "What did I do?" I protested before un pausing the video.
"WInter said that you'll train me?" the smallest called and the middle stopped before glancing behind. "Tomorrow" she said then she said something odd. "Shadows, teleport em back" She said and out of nowhere the audio and screen was covered and the roll ended. The team stared blankly at the window then the video disappeared leaving behind a normal window again.
"So, whats the plan?" Yelena said with her thick accent of russian. "They might be a threat" Steve said for the 4568 time. "Captain, you think EvERyThInG is a threat" Wanda said rolling her eyes.
"Wanda and Pietro and Clint can come with me to the orphanage" Natasha said and left without a word. "I'll stay nearby and scout the clearing" Yelena offered and left with her sister. "I guess that settles it" I said and left for my lab.
Natasha P.O.V
After seeing that recording, I quickly left to get changed to some normal clothes. The thought of those three had reminded me so much of my childhood and times of battle. I got changed and knocked on Yelena's door and she stepped out wearing her suit. "You ready?" I asked her and she stuck up her nose "Always" she replied and we left to get Clint, Wanda and Pietro.
The car slid to a stop and we parked on the opposite end of the orphanage. Yelena hopped off and headed for the clearing that was surprisingly close. "Ready?" Clint asked, we nodded and went up to the door. We opened the door to the lobby where a man was standing. "Hello, here to adopt?" He said trying to smile but it looked like more of a sneer.
"CHildren get out here!" He yelled and I heard footsteps down the stairs as 6 kids came down, but it seemed as the last 3 was more reluctant. I glanced at Wanda hoping she would get the message and she started looking into the minds of the small kids.
"Is there any age you are looking for?" He asked raising an eyebrow at us. We scanned the 6 and I spotted 2 teens. "Teens first" Clint said and two teens stepped up. The old pudgy man laughed for no reason. "Juniper and Winter here are both 15" He scowled at the girl called Winter and then smiled at us.
"The smallest first!" Tony hissed into my earpiece. "Actually, the smallest kids you have?" I asked and the man pointed at two small girls. "Marol and Natalie" He smiled sickly at them. "Get the smallest first then we'll come back for the other two" Steve said into the earpiece. I noticed two other girls tense and I felt a wave of sleepiness wash over me. I could tell that Clint and Wanda was feeling that same.
One girl nudged another one and the feeling stopped, I shook my head. "Natalie" I said finally and the man smiled sickly again. I felt a ripple of anger coming from the teen, WInter and the girl beside her tried to stop her. "No." She said. Mr.Tisal from the name tag glared at her. "They can adopt anyone here" He said through gritted teeth.
"Not her, I'm not going anywhere without her" The middle child, y/n said. I could tell that Mr. Tisal was about to hit her but he stopped knowing we where watching him and his every move. Mr. Tisal glanced at us, "Follow me to my office to fill out the paperwork" He said and we followed him into a room where a sign hung 'Don't Disturb'. We had Clint stay behind and I could tell he was uneasy.
In the middle of signing the papers we heard moving around and...
