The sweet musty scent of books rose all about you. You shelfed novel after novel after novel, your arms sore from your day at the library. Quietly, you felt warm arms wrap around your waist.

You leaned back into your lover, smiling, "Hello darling."

"Hi babe," Dwayne replied, turning you around.

He softly placed his hand under your chin, tilting your head up so that he could kiss you better.

"Come on baby, its time for you to stop working," he said.

"Alright, just let me finish up the last few things." You pulled away from him, instantly missing his warm touch. The last box of books were put away, with Dwayne's help of course, and you quickly swept up little messes here and there.

"All done," you said. Dwayne picked up your coat, walking past the threshold with you in suit. You locked the door behind you.

Dwayne attempted to put your jacket on you, but you shook your head: "No, darling, I'm not cold."

Your boyfriend fretted with you, "But baby, you'll get cold on the ride."

You laughed, "I may be weaker than you, but humans are stronger than you'd think. Of course, you seem to have forgotten that with being a vampire for so long," you teased.

"Alright then," Dwayne shrugged, "just don't blame me when you get cold."

You rolled your eyes, climbing onto the motorcycle behind your lover. You wrapped your arms around his torso, holding tight, the scent of cigarette smoke and blood rolling off of him comforting to you.

He started the engine, and the two of you began to drive off into the night. The chilly Autumn wind bit into your skin softly as you cursed Dwayne under your breath. He picked up speed when you two reached the beach, sand flying up behind you- you held on tighter, recalling how fragile humans are.

Soon enough you reached the cave and Dwayne helped you off, commenting on how you were shivering. "I told you you should wear your jacket babe."

"I'm fine," you muttered, struggling to stop your chattering teeth.

"God, humans are so full of themselves," Dwayne joked.

You teased, "You're one to talk."

Dwayne swept you off your feet, holding you in his arms delicately, though you knew he could easily hurt you if he wished. "Hey!" You shouted, laughing.

Your boyfriend smiled, walking down the path to your home. You rested your head on his shoulder, feeling innocent and tired. When you entered the cave he set you on the couch, pulling a fuzzy blanket over you. "Wait here, babe."

He left you there, soon returning with two warm mugs of tea. He handed you one in exchange for a kiss. Dwayne then sat next to you on the couch, pulling the blanket over his legs. The two of you talked about your day: you gave detailed accounts of the oddest customers that visited, and he gave detailed accounts of his dreams.

You two spent the night watching your favorite movies, and listening to each other rant about your interests.

Afterwards Dwayne picked you up once more and broughtyou to bed. He lit a pumpkin candle of yours while you got changed into yournightwear. You both then crawled into bed, the sound of the morning birdsgently sounding from the mouth of the cave. You snuggled up next to him, attempting to take some of his body heat, which he gladly gave. You fell asleepcradled in his arms as the sun rose elsewhere.
