Putting them to bed...
Give them a kiss each night.
Living for them and love instead...
a blind eye to your own Right.
They eat well from your plate,
and play till your pocket is empty.
They feel true love and feel great,
from all you have, handed to them in plenty.
You gladly hand in your soul through the tears,
to them you love and bleed.
You wake, work and claw, smiling away the fears.
Yes, you gave them all your wants, all they could ever need.
Yet,
They leave you when you hurt,
They cut you when bled out,
They take your love and treat you like dirt.
Your attention, your gifts, is all they cared about.
Your cast away in your time of need...
For a cute face, a tv romance, a drama...
But they'll tell you they love you, oh they'd admit...
Yet to a stranger, a fling they would commit,
and gladly tell you,
"It was worth it."
