"How have you not seen the new girl?" Toby asked, as he, Claire, and Jim walked through the halls. "She's literally built like a tank." the stout teen added, walking backwards to face his friends.

"I've seen her, it's a good thing she is too. We don't need anyone getting sent to the hospital for picking on her." Claire responded, shifting the books in her arms to hold their weight better. "What makes her even more terrifying is the fact that she's Russian." she said, glancing over her shoulder as if the teen was nearby. A gust of wind blew through the door as the group walked into the courtyard. The breeze blew both Jim and Claire's hair wildly as both teens went to fix their now messy locks.

"Oh, ten o'clock." Toby warned as they walked further outside, ducking as he walked to the opposite side of where he was looking. The other teens turned to their left to see what the warning was for, only to find the elusive new girl. The shorter teen was right, her build looked like she could pull her weight ten fold, maybe more. Where most kids at the school had to stand on their tippy toes to reach the top lockers, she had to bend down slightly, there was no doubt she had to do the same for going through doorways.

"Woah, you guys weren't kidding." Jim commented, staring in awe at the almost six and half foot teen as she closed her locker. The girl seemed to notice the eyes that bore holes in the side of her head and shifted her gaze to look at the trio. The way her mohawk-like hair fell to the left side of her face covered most of her facial features, but her brown eyes were so bright they almost looked red and they were very visible through her black locks. Jim and Toby flinched a little at the sight of her expression and quickly averted their own eyes as they headed for their bikes. Claire, being the social queen she was, opted to talk to the teen. She walked over to her, gaining the girls attention as she had watched the boys try to run from her.

"Hello, I'm Claire Nuñez." she greeted holding out her hand with a smile. The new girl looked down at her hand, seeming a little perplexed, but took Claire's hand for the hand shake. "Sorry about them, they get intimidated easily." Claire said with a teasing voice, gaining a dramatic gasp from Toby and a playful glare from Jim as they stood by the nearby bike rack.

"Quite alright. I seem to get zat a lot here." The thick accent mixed with her deep voice made her sound almost royal. She looked at the boys with a small grin then back at Claire. "My name is Zefreya. Most back home call me Z." she said, throwing her satchel bag over her shoulder as the strap crossed over her chest. Swinging the bag to rest behind her back as she put her hands into her pockets.

"You're from Russia, right?" Claire asked, just trying to make small talk. Z seemed to tense up at the question, making Claire feel guilty for making her uncomfortable. "Sorry, I've just heard some rumors-" Claire's words were cut off.

"Nyet, it's true. I'm just. . um, how do you say?" the taller girl mumbled as she lifted a hand to her chin, looking for the right words. "Home sick." she blurted, finally finding the correct phrase. "Apologies, my English is still new." she told the shorter teen with a small nervous laugh.

"Claire, we gotta go." Jim called out to his girlfriend, getting a text from Blinky was never a good sign as the troll now needed their presence down in trollmarket. Claire looked over at the boys and saw Jim waving his phone in the air with a concerned look.

"Alright, it was nice meeting you." Claire told Z as she started walking over to her bike and unlocking it. The three of them gave a wave to the girl, to which she mirrored, and the trio hopped on their bikes to ride off.

"This is exactly how I wanted to spend my Friday night." Toby's sarcastic voice rang out through the small battle field in the woods. "Getting batted around by a dragon like a cat with a ball of yarn!" the stout teen groaned, standing up from where he was knocked to the ground.

"Diagons," the four armed troll corrected. " are fierce creatures, Tobias. We need to exterminate it before it destroys anything else." Blinky said, ducking out of the way of a rock the beast had thrown their way. "You missed!" he called, triumphantly at the green creature, gaining a growl from it.

"Blinky, stop pissing it off!" Jim scolded his mentor. Making the already angry beast more mad was not helping the fact that Jim was doing the blunt of all of their attacks. His sword wasn't exactly a long distance weapon. Well, he could throw Daylight but that needed good aim to actually hit. This creature, although massive in size, was very nimble and fast. The loud call of the trollhunter gained its attention as the beast turned back to snarl at the armored teen. "Uh oh." was all Jim could sound as the Diagons chest glowed a bright orange and it opened its mouth.

Fire came bursting out of its throat and right for the trollhunter. Jim had no time to avoid the attack and held daylight out in front of him as he curled in on himself, preparing to get absolutely toasted. A heat wave swept over him but no pressure from the attack was forcing against his blade. He dared a peak as he squinted his eyes open to find nothing but maroon scales as a shield. The fire stopped coming and the being that had jumped in the way for the blast shifted to stand defensively over Jim with a growl. The two reptiles shared snarls and growls before the new one shot forward and clamped down on the other's throat with its jagged teeth. Where the former's fire glowed bright orange, this new one's glowed blood red. Pinning the other creature on its back, teeth still dug into the flesh on its neck, the red one released its flame. The screams and shrieks from the wounded monster made the group of trolls and humans cover their ears. All went silent as the green beast lay limp, hanging from the red's mouth still. Unclamping its jaw, the now dead diagon, dropped to the ground, neck and throat torched to a crisp.

"Well, that takes care of one problem, but now we have another." Blinky whispered as the group regathered with each other. Although said quietly, the new beast still heard. Blood red eyes that matched its flame turned to look at the group. Jim raised his sword out of muscle memory, but the creature Just smiled, blood still dripping from its teeth, unsettling the group even more.

"Careful who you run into out here. I can't always be your fireproof shield." She spoke. The deep voice and thick accent was too distinguishable, even if the teens had only just met her.

"ZEFREYA!!??" the three teens yelled in shock as the winged reptile turned to face them. A bright flash of red blinded them momentarily. As they looked back the monster was gone and Z stood, human, as red mist settled around her. Her blood stained face mixed with the deadly smirk she wore was chilling.

"You've got some expanding to do." Claire told her, gaining a laugh from the taller teen.
