Unknown Soulmates

Chapter 1

"Raven... Raven.. RAVEN!" yelled my friend Josh. I fell out of my bed and face planted on the ground. I felt a throb of pain in my face while I slowly got up from the floor. I sat down next to my bed and slowly looked at my friend Josh.

"What is it that you have to yell in my face to get me up? You know I haven't been getting good sleep lately." I said to Josh while slowly getting up again. Josh sat down on my bed and helped me up onto it. I sighed and rubbed my face since I still felt some pain from the fall.

"I'm sorry for waking you up that way, it's just that I have been here for 20 minutes already trying to get you up. I tried multiple different ways to get you up, I even poured water on you and you didn't get up." said Josh. I looked at him in shock when I heard the last thing he said. I turned my head and grabbed my pillow, only to feel that it was wet. I felt Josh get up from the bed and saw from the corner of my eye he was slowly leaving the room with a scared smile. I slowly looked at him and put down my pillow. I sighed before making eye contact with him.

"You have five seconds to get out of my sight before it's too late." I said to him and he ran for his life. I heard him run down the stairs and hide somewhere. I sighed again before laying down on my back. I looked at the ceiling for a while before getting up to get changed. I have a feeling the reason why Josh is here is because he wants to hangout. I walked to my bedroom door and closed it before walking over to my closet. I opened my closet door and grabbed some black sweatpants, a gray t-shirt and my favorite dark gray hoodie. I closed my closet door and went to my bedroom door to lock it. Once I locked my bedroom door, I took off my pajama shirt and put on my gray t-shirt. I took my pajama pants off and put on my black sweatpants after. I put my dark gray hoodie over my shirt before heading towards my drawers to grab a pair of socks. I opened my drawer and grabbed some white socks with the pride flag on them. I put my socks on before heading over to my bedroom door again. I unlocked the door and left my room. I headed downstairs to find Josh. I already knew where he was because he always hides in the same spot when I tell him to leave my room when I'm angry. I go over to the kitchen and open a cupboard door to see he was laying in the cramped space. He tried covering his face with his hands like a parent playing peek-a-boo with their baby. I grabbed him and dragged him out of the cupboard.

He tried to fight back but I was a bit stronger than him so it didn't work. I looked at him squirming, trying to break out of my grip but it didn't work. I held him until he gave up and he looked at me like he was ready to accept his fate. I let go of him and he hit the back of his head on the floor. "That's what you get for yelling at me and for pouring water on my bed." I said before leaning against the counter. He sat up before turning his head to look at me. He rubbed the back of his head while he got up onto his feet. "You know that hurts right? You shouldn't let go of people if it will get them hurt." Josh said while looking at me. I glared at him and he realized what he said."No shit sherlock. It's also like ''oh I don't know, yelling in someone's face to wake them up only to have their face plant on the floor." I said sarcastically. He sighed before making eye contact again."Yea I know and I'm sorry that I woke you up like that. I hope you forgive me." He gave me his puppy dog face and I sighed, he knew I can't forgive him when he does that face.

"I forgive you, just don't do that again before I throw you out my bedroom window next time." I said to him, he nodded and went to the living room to probably watch some t.v. I grabbed two cups and put some juice in them before following him to the living room. I saw him sitting on the couch with the t.v remote in hand, scrolling through the channels. I sat the cup in front of him on the coffee table before sitting diagonally from him with my cup still in my hand. I looked at him and he seemed frustrated that he couldn't find something good to watch. I sighed before grabbing the remote from him and going to Netflix. I went into the search bar and typed in one of his favorite shows. I pressed play before setting the remote down on the table. We sat there for a while just sipping our drinks and just chatting while his show played in the background. After about 25 minutes we hear a knock on the door. I got up and walked to the door to open it. I looked through the peephole before opening it to see mine and Josh's friend Kai. I opened the door and saw Kai also brought their girlfriend Ayuna.

"Oh hey. What brings you guys here?" I said. Kai and Ayuna came into my house and closed my door."Me and Ayuna decided to visit you. We got bored and you haven't hung out with us in a while so we came over. Hope we didn't interrupt you having your shower." said Kai."Yea, I also brought some food over for us to eat." said Ayuna. Ayuna put the food on the kitchen counter and I looked at Kai with confusion. I touched my hair to see that it was damp from Josh pouring water on me in my sleep. I sighed before heading to the living room and glared at Josh. I glared at him for a while until he looked at me. From the way he made eye contact with me, he knew I was a bit pissed off.

"You could have fucking told me that my hair was still wet from you pouring water on me." I said to Josh. He stared at me for a while then looked at my damp hair.

"Oh sorry. I did mean to tell you but I ran after you told me to run since I didn't want to get tossed out of a window." said Josh while rubbing the back of his head. Ayuna and Kai walk into the living room and see me glaring at Josh. "Oh hey Josh. How have you been?" said Ayuna. Josh looks at Kai and Ayuna to see they are here. "I have been good, what about you guys?" said Josh. I glared at him for another moment before looking at Kai and Ayuna.

"We've been good. What are you guys watching?" asked Kai. I decided to sit down on the couch because I was still tired from waking up not that long ago. Kai and Ayuna came and sat down on the couch to see what was on the t.v."Just watching one of my favorite shows since it's better than watching bad rom-coms," said Josh. I gave Josh a light smack on the back of the head before flipping him off. He looked at me before patting my head. That was one of his ways of apologizing and I forgave him because I know he was just joking around. The four of us talked for a while before I decided to go grab some snacks for us. I got up from the couch and headed towards the kitchen. Once I was in the kitchen, I opened a cupboard and grabbed a bowl then put the bowl on the counter. I closed the cupboard before opening a different one to grab some chips. I grabbed a bag of plain chips and poured them into the bowl before putting the bag back into the cupboard. I grabbed the bowl and went back to the living room.

I entered the living room and placed the bowl onto the coffee table before sitting down. We all just sat there and chatted for quite a bit while eating the chips I brought. Once the bowl was empty I got up and grabbed the bowl to put it back into the kitchen, until Josh grabbed the bowl out of my hand and went to the kitchen with it. I found it a bit strange since he doesn't really do that but I didn't question it too much since he does nice gestures every once in a while. Still, it seemed off to me about why he grabbed the bowl and headed to the kitchen. Kai seemed confused as well when I looked at her, Ayuna didn't notice Josh's kinda weird behavior and kept watching the show. I moved my vision to the t.v and waited for Josh to come back. Kai did the same. We waited about 5 to 10 minutes for Josh to come back but he hasn't returned from the kitchen. I started to get worried about why he was taking so long. I got up from the couch and headed towards the kitchen to see him staring at the floor. It seemed like he zoned out because his face was blank. I walked over to him and put my hand on his shoulder. He seemed startled because he jolted his head up and looked at me. He seemed to relax a bit when he saw it was me.
