I can't even tell you how sad I am that Matt was traded. I kinda feel like we lost a family member. For the purpose of this story he is going to remain a Clipper. We'll get through the trade together ladies!

Courtney quickly packed up her stuff after the very short postgame press conference had ended. Doc wanted to get the team into New Orleans that night to have a little downtime before taking the court to prepare to face a strong Pelicans team. The guys would be leaving immediately after the press conference ended which also happened to be Courtney's schedule too.

She walked quickly to her rental car and started the engine turning on the heat before she even closed the door. It was chilly in Salt Lake City. She missed the colder weather she was used to. Growing up in a Chicago suburb made being in the snow covered city feel a little bit like home to her.

Snapping out of her thoughts she put the car in gear and headed toward the airport. The flight from Salt Lake to New Orleans was slated to be almost three hours. It would be early morning by the time she landed. The guys had the day off tomorrow meaning she did as well. She got to the airport and dropped her car off before quickly making it through security and to her gate. She had about twenty minutes before boarding giving her some time to check out what she could do the next day in New Orleans.

"Hey," Ashton said taking the seat next to her.

"Hey girl," Courtney smiled over at her before looking back at her phone.

"So, what's going on with you and Matt?" Ashton asked getting straight to the point.

"What?" Courtney smirked at her friend feeling the heat rise in her belly at the mention of his name. She was craving him a this point.

"Come on. A blind man could see something was going on with you two before the game," Ashton pointed out.

"No. I still hate him and he doesn't know me," Courtney said shrugging it off.

"Uh huh," Ashton said rolling her eyes. "I don't believe you,"

"There's nothing to talk about Ash," Courtney said not taking her eyes off her phone.

"Fine if you say so," Ashton said letting it go for now.

"What are we going to do with a whole day off in New Orleans?"

"That's what I was looking at," Courtney said putting her phone in her bag and standing up as the flight was called.

"We must go out tomorrow night," Ashton said walking with her down the jetway.

"Duh," Courtney laughed.

She took her seat in first class which unfortunately was a few rows ahead of Ashton. Well maybe that wasn't such a bad thing. Now she couldn't harass her about what was or wasn't going on with her and Matt. She took out her ipad and pulled up one of the many movies she had before putting her ear buds in her ears and zoning out. She was too wound up to sleep.

Finally the plane descended into New Orleans. Courtney grabbed her stuff and hurried off the plane. She was just ready to get to her room and call it a night. The night air was much warmer than the cold she left behind in Salt Lake City. She shed her jacket as she walked down the jetway and to the rental car counter. She wasn't paying any attention as she walked being that she was reading an email from her boss on her phone when she ran into what felt like a brick wall.

"You really should pay more attention where you're going,"

Courtney froze hearing his voice. She slowly trailed her eyes up his body until she got to his face. He was looking down at her with jaw set and dark eyes wide as he waited for her response.
