Growing up in Seattle wasn't the worst; you had a great family and amazing friends. What more could you ask for?
Seattle was undeniably beautiful; it truly felt like home, where all your cherished childhood memories were made.

Your neighbourhood was quite peaceful. Although you just moved in a few years ago, You were already well known in your neighborhood. Your apartment complex was located a few blocks away from the forest, which was completely unnerving considering all the stories you've heard, but they were just meaningless tales that hold no significance, and well, you were not a child to believe everything you're told.

Your apartment wasn't anything luxurious. A small apartment was more than enough for you; you lived on your own after all. As you enter through the door, you are greeted with the living room area, furnished with a small sofa, a coffee table, and a TV placed on a stand. The kitchen was on one side of the living room and contained basic appliances like a refrigerator, stove, sink, and storage cabinets, though they were mostly empty. To the right of the living room is the bedroom, which is just big enough to fit your queen-size bed, a nightstand, and a wardrobe. The bathroom is next to the bedroom, toilet, sink, and shower stall. Your apartment reflects your personality perfectly; it's messy. You would usually throw your stuff anywhere and then struggle to find it; despite that, you never learn from your mistakes. in your defence; it would just get messy all over again, so why should you bother? You had a weird way of convincing yourself that you were always right, and somehow it always worked.

As a medical student, specifically a veteranian, you decided to take up a side job, and working at a cat cafe was the most fitting. It was a high wage for someone your age, just enough to pay for your student loan and to fulfil your basic needs.

Waking up at 7:00 a.m., you shift around in your bed before ultimately deciding to get up, not to waste any more time. You feel like the best way to start your day is by taking a quick shower to help you freshen up. Walking over to your drawer, you grab a fresh change of clothes and head straight to the bathroom. Quickly rushing through your shower, you get out and dress up. You make your way to the kitchen and grab the first available snack you can find. Finally, standing by your door and effortlessly slipping your shoes on, you grab your phone, your earphones, and your keys, and then finally head out.

The distance from your house to your college wasn't necessarily long, yet sometimes you considered moving into a dorm, primarily because you didn't have the motivation to walk every day at 7:00 a.m. when you would rather be sleeping in your bed, but it wouldn't be that worth it; you just have to force your lazy ass; a mere 10-minute walk wouldn't hurt. You promised yourself a good future, and this was the most important step.

Putting on your earphones, you pick a random song and make your way to your college. It was mid-December, and there was an obvious sting in the weather.
'Maybe I should've brought an extra jacket with me' you think, blaming yourself for not taking a minute of your daily routine to even check for the weather.

A few minutes later, your college came into view. Walking over to the gates, you spot a few familiar students around campus; however, you choose not to stop for a second to even greet them, preferring to just stay quiet. You weren't a loner, but you didn't like to belong to large friend groups, believing that they're just a waste of effort, as most of you guys go your separate ways in the end anyway. Instead, having one close friend or even two seemed like a better idea.

You make your way through different hallways and finally arrive at your lecture hall; fortunately for you, you made it right on time. Entering the lecture hall, you notice a few students already seated while the teacher was waiting impatiently for everyone to settle down. You look around the room and take notice of an empty seat next to your best friend, Sydney. You mutter a quick hello to her, then focus your attention on the teacher.

To say that you are tired is an understatement. It took you every atom in your body to not fall asleep, and the thought that you had a shift after this ruined your mood more. The lecture finally ended after what felt like an eternity, which in reality was merely two hours. The teacher's announcement of a practical exam in two weeks was the last thing you wanted to hear.
"Fuck this," you hear Sydney say under her breath, loud and clear enough just for you to hear.
You steal a glance at her and give her a small smile, indicating that you agree with her. You weren't in the mood to talk, and it seemed like Sydney had picked up on that and decided not to push it.

After the teacher has dismissed everyone, you swiftly gather your stuff and exit the lecture hall with Sydney by your side. Together, you both navigate through the hallways, trying to avoid the number of other students walking in the opposite direction.

After exiting the building, you and Sydney part ways, with her going back to her house and you heading back to the library. You had some time to kill before it was time for your shift, and by some time, you meant 3 hours. And what better way to kill time than studying? Hopefully, you can get a few assignments finished.
Upon entering the library, you noticed how empty it was. barely a handful of students, mostly in groups. Seating yourself on an empty table and deciding to start studying
And oh, how wrong were you? The minute you seated yourself and got your books out and sorted, you couldn't help but tell yourself you'd just close your eyes for 5 minutes, actually convinced you were going to get up and study when honestly, you knew you were just lying to yourself, but who would say no to a few hours of sleep? Finally closing your eyes and allowing your body to relax, you let consciousness leave your body as you drift off to sleep.
