3: Amnesia

"I love you Ram, I really do." which didn't came more than a whisper before she passed out.

Ram quickly lifted her by and dashed towards his car, tears rolling down his cheeks, placed her onto the seat. He drove hoping any moment Priya would woke up and yell at him for driving so carelessly. He tried to ignore the shock and chill settling in his bones, like he was driving the very nightmare he was most afraid of.

(The song above would be playing in the background.)

On other hand a panicked Shivi calls Brinda and informs her all that happens. She and Adi rush to the hospital they were very sure Ram would take Priya and informed the Sood's of the address.

Doctors rushed Priya into operation theater while Ram did all the formalities with his heart in his hands. Adi and Bri arrived shortly and hugged Ram tight who by now went all numb. The Sood's and Kapoor's followed. Meera, Shivina and Ishaan crying uncontrollably while Akki was in shock so were the sisters.

After a couple of hours the doctors came out of the room and told that the surgery was successful and called Ram to his office.

Ram entered the doctor's chamber. The doctor offered him a glass of water seeing his condition.

"Mr. Kapoor she is stable for now but we can't be very sure, at least not until she wakes up."

"When will she wake up?" he asked.

"Should wake up in next 24 hours or..." the doctor paused cautiously choosing his words and continued,

"or she might permanently slip into coma. It might even be possible that when she wakes up she might not recognize you or anyone."

"NO! THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE. HOW CAN MY PRIYA FORGET ME?" Ram yelled.

"Calm down Mr. Kapoor she got hit on her head it might be possible she suffers from amnesia. In that case please make sure she doesn't encounter any sudden blast from past. Please take care of her and yourself." the doctor concluded.

Ram stepped out of the chamber and felt the whole world caving in trying to engulf his as a whole.

23 hours later...

It's been 23 hours Ram didn't left her side. Panicking more now with every passing second.

That's when he saw her finger's moving. At that moment he breath, he hoped.

After a few minutes Priya opened her eyes blinking a few times to adjust to the light.

"Priya!" Ram shout cum weep.

"Huh? Who are you? And why am I here? Where is my family?" Priya asked all confused.

"Are! Priya it's me, your Mr. Kapoor" Ram said clinging to hope.

"Obviously, you are Mr. Kapoor not Mrs. Kapoor." she replied as a matter-of-fact.

"You forgot everything even me but not sarcasm. You definitely love it more than me." Ram murmured. His heart shattering in a billion pieces. His Priya doesn't even remember him anymore.

Sood's enter the room with doctor. He instructed the nurse to take her for some test. He than said her some basic questions to which she answered all confused but when he asked,

"Which year do we live in Priya?"

"2017" she answer and saw everyone's shocked faces.

"It's 2021 Priya." the doctor told her softly.

She now was hell confused of what was happening around her that she fainted.

An hour later she woke up to find her mother sitting on the edge of her bed. She slowly filled Priya of what happened but carefully avoiding all the details regarding her marriage, the murder case and everything which Ram told them to not tell her.

Ram saw everything from the distance, holding on to whatever was left of his heart to hope. Brinda came and asked his to go home and rest as he never left the hospital ever since the accident. To which he denied sternly.

"Jaan, if not for yourself at least for Priya. When she'll remember everything she will need you in your pink state not this broken Ram, she will need you to take care of her. Please rest." she finally argued.

"She remember me, won't she?" he asked hopefully.

"Ofcourse she will. She loves you. And seeing you in this state she will murder us." Bri said and pushed Ram with Adi to drop him home, it broke her heart to see him so vulnerable.
