The alpha. 20% of the population. Strong, commonly masculine scents. Strong pheromones. Unable to control themselves around omegas in heat, alphas go into bi-yearly ruts that can be induced by omegas in heat.
The beta. 60% of the population. Scentless. They are unable to smell scents.
The omega. 20% of the population. Considered the lowest of the lows. Go into intense heats that attract alphas, especially their fated mates.Alexander was in his second year of high school. His sandy blonde hair and brown doe eyes were unmistakable on the baseball field. He was the star batter of the school. He never missed a ball. Alexander was popular; he was 5'11 and had roughly 190 lbs of muscle. He was an Alpha. His second gender was made clear the minute he started at Maddendale High.
On a particularly warm southern day, Alexander walked from his car to the doors of school. He wore a sort of tight white t-shirt and a pair of light-washed blue jeans. His scent of wine and oakwood flowed from his body. His shoulder then collided with a body. The blonde quickly lifted his head from his phone, having to look up a little more than he expected, and locked eyes with an alpha. His fluffy, brown hair was messy, and he smelled of cigarettes and coffee.
Henry was an exchange student from France. He was muscular. Tall, standing at 6'3. He had the most incredible blue eyes. Eyes that made Alexander feel as though he was naked. As though he were exposed. He was unable to hide himself from the man.
"Ah, I apologize. I should be more aware," Henry said in his heavy French accent.
Alexander blushed at his deep voice. The man was a beast. Alexander lifted his hand, waving it off.
"No worries, you are?" Alex asked the man. Henry seemed to smirk a little.
"Henry Clement," he said, gently grabbing the blonde alpha's hand and kissing it gently.
"And you?" Henry asked.
"Alexander," the alpha said, flustered. Why was his heart beating so fast? This man was an alpha; he shouldn't feel anything like this towards him. Alex pulled his hand away and looked down.
"You, um, shouldn't do that. We're both alphas; it's unnatural," he mumbled. This sent Henry into a fit of laughter.
"How old school," he said with a smirk, looking over Alex. Henry's scent of coffee and rain attacked Alex's nose.
"Little Alpha in Training," Henry said, making a joke about how Alex was only a sophomore and held what can only be described as old school beliefs about mating. Alex blushed.
"Don't tease me." He said it with a slight frown. Henry laughed.
"I apologize I do not mean to. You see, I'm a... what do you call a senior? So you are young in my eyes." He said.
Alex nodded in understanding.
"I see. Thank you for taking the time to talk to me. I'm sorry I bumped into you, but I have class, so I'll see you later," he said before quickly making his way out of the situation. His heart was beating rapidly, and his cheeks were pink.
"What the fuck is happening to me!?"
