I have insomnia right now and it's like 2 am... *sigh* and I had to rewrite this chapter.
Paul stared at the ceiling, waiting for a sleepy feeling. He stared blankly at Martha, who was sleeping on his feet. He couldn't sleep. Nothing he did could get him to sleep. Music, movies, reading, nothing worked. He tried everything. Everything except one; calling Linda.
Meanwhile, Linda was having the same problem. Heather was asleep ages ago as Linda tossed and turned. With a deep yawn, she turned to her left. And stared at the telephone. First time Paul called her, he gave her his number in return. She looked at the small slip of paper with his number. Well, she thought. He did say call anytime...
The two unknowingly simultaneously grabbed their phones, dialing each other's phone numbers, only to recieve a busy signal. Well, the two thought, he/she's awake...
The second Linda laid the phone back in its cradle, it rang shrilly. "Hello, insomniac of the week speaking."
"Guess I'm not keeping you up then, am I?"
"Ha, not at all."
"Well, Martha's asleep, and-"
"Martha?" Another girl?
"Martha, that's my crazy sheepdog. I'll bring her sometime."
"Great, I love dogs. So does Heather. We have a dog named Jet."
"Jet? That actually sounds like a song."
"Hm," Linda bit her lip slightly, pondering.
"Maybe like, JET! WoOoOoOo JET! WoOoOoOo..."
Currently 11:30 PM. That's how long it took to get this chapter out. *sigh* I read something a minute ago that said Paul and Linda once had a dog named Jet (inspiring the Wings song of the same name) so I thought, "Heck, why not?" Sorry for the short chapters! Trying to make stuff longer, don't worry!
