A few more months-ish later...
Linda had to tell Paul something. She hadn't told anyone, but she had to tell him soon. She had dazed off, thinking of other things...
"Lin? You okay?"
"Huh? Oh, yeah, I'm fine, fine, just a little dizzy."
"Dizzy?"
"Yeah, I threw up earlier, but you don't have to worry about me, I'm fine."
"You sure?"
"I'm fine, Paul."
"You don't seem it..."
"Well," she bit her lip.
"Hmm?"
"Nothing, nothing."
You've gotta tell him sometime.
I know, I know, but I just don't know when to tell him, or how.
Just tell him!
I can't just walk up to him and tell him I'm pregnant!
Okay, fine, fine, just slowly approach it. Hint at it.
Well, I guess. But first, I need to eat something. I'm hungry.
"Paul, do we have any pickles?"
He turned around and raised an eyebrow. "What?"
"Do we have any pickles?"
"Uh, I don't think so. Why do you ask? You've never asked that before."
"I don't know, I just suddenly want pickles."
"I can go get some, if you wa-"
"No! No, it's fine!"
"You sure?"
"I'm sure."
"Okay..."
"Paul?"
"Yeah?"
"I have to tell you something."
"Sure, you can tell me anything."
"Uh, guess what?"
"Lin, I'm no good at guessing."
Linda looked down at her stomach and looked back at Paul.
Paul stared at Linda in utter confusion until he realized. His eyes lit up. "You mean-"
"Mhm!" She smiled.
Paul hugged Linda, giving her a beautiful kiss.
"Oh, Lin! I'll go get those pickles! I'll be right back!" He said, grabbing his coat.
"What happened?" Heather asked, walking into the room hugging a stuffed animal.
"Heather, what would you think about a little brother or sister?"
"I don't know. Why?"
"Because you're getting one!"
"Really?!?"
"Yep."
Heather ran out of the room, screaming with joy.
Linda called her friends to tell them the good news. Before she knew it, Cythia, Maureen, and Pattie were talking with Linda while she was eating pickles.
"Anything else I can get you, Linda?" Paul asked.
"I'm fine, I'm fine,"
"You sure?"
"Yes, Paul,"
"Now, shoo! Girl talk!" Pattie said jokingly.

The second that Maureen, Pattie, and Cynthia had to leave, everyone was thinking the same thing.
Once they left and Linda was far out of earshot, the three said in unison, "We should have a surprise baby shower for Linda!"
