Dawn laid in the hospital bed with a tube in her mouth, her lungs weren't able to provide the air she needed to breath on her own so they put her on a ventilator.
Turns out that the.. crazy family had thrown her off the roof, her body had hit that bird thing and Dick had left to try and save her, and he managed to, but she was dying. It felt as if she was just dead but not dead.
While Hank sat on a chair by her side, staring at her. Juliet and Daniel sat next to each other, both slumped back with arms across their chests. Daniel had his hood up and over his head, and Juliet had her chin on her knees. Seeing someone they've known since a kid in a hospital bed was devastating.
Dawn is an important person in their life. Besides the fact they haven't seen her for the past 4 years, but it didn't matter. Dawn was like a mentor when they needed to talk to someone, which was a rare occurrence, but still.
Juliet and Daniel don't think they've actually been in a hospital before. They probably would've been when they were babies after the fall of their parents if they didn't die on impact.
Sitting there and seeing Dawn in that state, it ruined them and it made them feel sick to their stomachs. They could throw up right then and there if they chose to. It was a mutual feeling between the two, and Juliet's mind couldn't help but wonder towards Rachel.
Rachel wasn't there because that crazy family took her.
Dick was staring at Dawn through the glass outside of the room. He couldn't step into the room where he caused her to be in a coma. If he hadn't come to her for help, she would be fine. She'd be up and walking.
Hank looked over at him before getting up, walking towards Dick as he walked out.
Dick turned to him. "Hank, I'm sorry. If I hadn't—" Dick began to apologize.
"Who were they? What the hell do they want with Rachel?" Hank questioned him.
"I don't know." Dick answered truthfully as he looked back towards Dawn before back at Hank. "You take care of her. I will find them."
"Don't forget your siblings." Hank uttered under his breath, walking back into the room as Dick looked to his right, looking at the twins who seemed empty.
"Danny, Jules.." Dick spoke, their heads turning to him simultaneously. "Come on. We're gonna search for Rachel." He informed. The teens slowly got up and followed Dick out of the room, shoes dragging on the ground.
Not only were they worried for Dawn, but they were exhausted. Juliet really wished she ate when she got the offer because her metabolism wasn't helping her. But she didn't want to eat either.
Daniel noticed how she stumbled making him grab her arm. His brows frowning in worry. "Come on, get on my back." He instructed.
"No, I'm fine." Julie shrugged off.
"Juliet." Daniel insisted. She looked at him, seeing he wasn't going to stop until she did get on his back, making her sigh. Daniel bent down slightly and waited until she jumped in his back.
His arms hooked under her legs so she wouldn't slip, her arms around his neck as her head was on his shoulder. Dick glanced back at them, feeling himself worry for the teenager.
Dick's phone started to ring, making him reach into the pocket of his jeans, looking down at it before answering it and instead put it on speaker so Daniel and Juliet could hear.
"Grayson." Dick spoke into the phone.
"Don't sound so excited." They heard coming from the other side.
