"The moon is beautiful tonight, isn't it?" said the man, Atsumu, between a wiggle of his eyebrows and a giggle, like he was telling a dumb inside joke that Kiyoomi could not understand.
"Mph." Kiyoomi just uffed.
"Don't you think so?" The blonde asked with a cheeky grin. With a click of his toungue, the child answered. "I like the sun better."
"Yeah? For me is quite the opposite." Atsumu said all cocky. Before Kiyoomi could bit back anything, he went on. "If the moon was a person, I imagine it calm... and collected. A goodie to shoes, to put it simple." a chuckle, "But they will also be like... a bit moody. So I could tease them a lil'."
"Still prefer the sun, tough." The kid argued, just because. He didn't want to trust this guy, but the feeling in his gut was saying otherwise. It was... strange, but not scary at all.
"How so?" Atsumu was annoyingly persistent.
"Because it's warm" he shrugged for lack of things, "and shiny. Like a big giant smile."
The boy barked out a laugh and Kiyoomi pouted. His face was hot and the rumble in his belly was stronger. What's so funny, you jerk?
"Smiles aren't always warm and shiny, Omi. They can also be cold. And gloomy." The man wiggled his fingers in front off his face and the child only wanted to bit them off. He almost feel guilty when he saw the amusement in Atsumu's eyes. Almost is the key.
"Those are no smiles!" Kiyoomi puffed his chest, "Smiles are nice! And happy and funny and- and I like them! They make you all fuzzy inside, just like when under the sun!" he maybe shouted just a little. He must have closed his eyes, because when a finger flicked against his forehead he was dumbfounded.
"You are too cute for your own good." The idiot grinned, with a glint of something in his eyes that Kiyoomi could not tell.
"I-I'm not!" was the arsh replay, because Kiyoomi was just not cute.
"Yes you are!" The man singsoned flicking his absolutely not red ear and spreeding his lips in a downrighty not bright smile.
"No, I'm not!" Omi shrieked, swatting his hand away and cupping his ears. His gut was still funny.
The boy pushed his nose with is finger making him jump and with fake reprimanding tone he said: "So why is your pretty face so red it looks like it's been kissed by the sun?"
That was it, Kiyoomi was indignant. "The sun can not kiss! It is no person!"
The smile in the man's face dropped. Atsumu lost his antics and he started to come closer to his face. His golden eyes were shining. The child should have been scared, but he found them fascinating. There was like a light of a flame behind those eyes. A flame that neither the cold of the winter breeze from his window could extinguish. "But if it really was a person?" the blond asked, merely whispered, in Kiyoomi's personal space. "Kiyoomi." and the child may have shivered, just a little. "In that case, would you like a kiss from the sun?" And then... that grin again.
The time stopped. It was like Kiyoomi have already listened this exact sentence. It was stupid, thought, and the curly boy wasn't stupid. That was a silly question, the sun kiss was just a metaphor... wasn't it?
"What do you say, Omi-omi?"
Yeah, what does he say?
"I say this is ridiculus!" that's what he said. It was ridiculus, preposterous, absurd. He wasn't the smartest kid - not in his saying - in his class - not in his saying -for nothing!
"'Ridiculus' say you? And If I tell you that it's not?" Atsumu's bright smile returned.
"I'll tell you you're a crazy old man!" Kiyoomi's heart was pounding loud in his chest and the redness on his cheeks persisted.
"Do you want to find out, little one?" The grin on the blonde face was radiant and he was nearly blinded by it. It was new, like that feeling was sleeping inside and Atsumu was trying to wake it up. It was unnerving, and weird, and... maybe endering. He was astonished. And curious why.
"I..." Kiyoomi gulped, still wary, he averted the boy's burning gaze. "Even if I want to, I can't. So it's dumb."
Atsumu tutted. The child wanted to kick him just for spite. "Okay, Mr. Grumpy. It will be for me a plesure to change your mind."
It was a surprise when Atsumu's hands cuddled Kiyoomi's face. So he remained still, overwhelmed of what to do. He didn't expect it. He didn't expect it to be so... warm. Not like the hotness he felt before. No, it was more like... nice. Like... like if his touch was the finest thing in this world. Neither his mama's hugs were so good.
Kiyoomi leaned his cheeks in Atsumu's palm and he felt his eyes shut. He basked in the sensation and a fuzzy feeling was spreading inside him. It wasn't new per se. But he couldn't remind anything of the sort... it was a bit... frustrating. He couldn't tell, just ugh, he want to remember so bad...
"You there, my Omi?" Atsumu said, maybe. The man was chuckling, he wasn't sure. All he was earing were laughs, the type you want to join to and laugh so much, until your belly is all sore and you can't stand up anymore. He started gigling too. His eyes were close, but he wasn't seeing darkness. There was light, lots of light... almost as If Atsumu's smile was behind his eyelids. And then he felt it. It was soft, right on his forehead. It felt like a burn. Warm started to spreed in his whole body, alongside that fuzzy feeling that he knew so well. A cascade of burning feelings was falling on his small body and he should have been afraid of it. Instead... it was electrifying. At that moment.... he felt he could fly up to the sky among the stars, trying to reach that light and experience that feeling foverer.
But things always come to an end.
As it began, the burning sensation in his forehead dissipated. But the warm and fuzzy feeling didn't go away. Like a phantom touch, it lingered in his body. He was feeling so cozy and happy.
Kiyoomi tried to open his eyes to see again that smile, the real one. However, he found out that he couldn't: with the coziness came the tiredness, and with it the slumber. He yawned, the big warm hands weren't cradling his face anymore. A little obnoxious chuckle filled his senses. And then that was just what it was. Him, falling in the warm embrace of sleep, and a phantom touch on his head. A phantom kiss. A kiss... by the sun.
