Jessica is a 16-year-old girl who is an all honors student at Rice High School and lives in a small town in the mid-west. Her dad left when she was 12 and she's left with her alcoholic mother. Jessica is a quiet person and keeps to herself for the most part. She used to be popular in middle school but once her dad left and her mom became one of the biggest drinkers ever, parents didn't want their kids hanging out with her anymore and kids started to bully her. One of her biggest bully's is Aiden.
Aiden is a 16-year-old boy who also attends Rice High School. He's captain of the football team and one of the most popular and handsome boys ever. Everyone think they know everything about him, but little do they know he lives in an abusive household with his brother, Elijah, who is 17 and also attends Rice High School. Aiden was a nerdy kid in elementary school. He liked to read and do stereotypical nerd things, so no one really liked him. He always had his eye on Jessica, who always ignored him and pretended he didn't even exist. In sixth grade, Aiden started to grow and take care of himself more, making all girls want him. All he ever wanted was to fit in. When he heard people making fun of Jessica for her family situation, he felt terrible, but the devil on his shoulder was telling him that she deserved this. After all these years he can finally make her feel what he felt. Tiny, empty, nothing.
