Chapter 8: Unspoken Connections

In the bustling dance practice room, Mia eagerly awaited the pairing announcement. When the professor revealed that she would be partnered with Ethan, a wave of relief washed over her. She smiled at Ethan, grateful that she wouldn't have to dance with a stranger and lily got pair up with alex.

"I'm glad I didn't get paired up with a stranger," Mia said to Ethan, her voice filled with genuine warmth, as they moved towards each other. Ethan smiled back, his eyes reflecting the same sentiment.

"Shall we?" Ethan extended his hand towards Mia, waiting for her to place her hand in his. Mia placed her hand in his, feeling an electric jolt at their touch. As they began to dance, Mia's hand rested on Ethan's shoulder, while his hand found a comfortable place on her waist. Their movements were fluid and harmonious, as if they had been dancing together for years.

"You're a great dancer, Mia. I didn't expect that," Ethan remarked, his eyes locked onto hers.

Mia beamed, her confidence shining through. "You'll find out there's much more to me than meets the eye. I have a lot of hidden talents."

Ethan chuckled, the sound warm and inviting. "I look forward to discovering them all."

As they danced, Ethan pulled Mia a little closer, by pulling her waist gentelly . their faces just inches apart. Mia felt her cheeks heat up, her heart racing in her chest. Ethan's gaze was intense, and Mia found herself unable to look away. She tried to maintain her composure, but her blush was becoming impossible to hide.

"Why is your face so red? Are you feeling unwell?" Ethan inquired, concern etched on his face.

Panicked thoughts raced through Mia's mind. *Why am I blushing so much? I can't let him notice. I need to play it cool.* Clearing her throat, she stammered, "I-I'm okay. Just a bit warm. I'll be back in a second."

Mia practically ran towards the hallway, her face burning with embarrassment. Once out of sight, she muttered to herself, "Why did I run away like that? It's all Ethan's fault. His face was so close to mine, that's why I got nervous."

Determined to regain her composure, Mia splashed some water on her face and took a few deep breaths. Gathering her courage, she returned to the training room, hoping to put the embarrassing incident behind her.

When she rejoined the group, Lily and Alex were curious about her sudden exit. Lily asked, "Mia, did something happen with Ethan? Why did you run off like that?"

Mia reassured Lily, "No, nothing happened. I just felt a bit overwhelmed with the dance. Ethan is nice, really."

Satisfied with Mia's response, Lily turned her attention back to ethan. Mia excused herself and approached Ethan, who was engrossed in his phone.

"Hey, Ethan, sorry for the wait," she said, trying her best to sound composed.

Ethan, his expression calm and understanding, put his phone down. "It's okay, Mia. Is everything alright?" he asked, his tone gentle and reassuring.

Mia felt a mix of relief and gratitude for Ethan's understanding. She hesitated for a moment before explaining, "I didn't run away from you earlier. I just got thirsty and went to the classroom for water."

Ethan nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "I see. No need to explain. We all need breaks sometimes."

Mia felt a sense of warmth in Ethan's response, his casual demeanor putting her at ease. She managed a smile in return, grateful for his understanding. "Thanks, Ethan. Let's get back to practicing, shall we?"

Ethan agreed, his smile widening. "Absolutely. We have a dance to perfect, after all."

As they resumed practicing, Mia couldn't help but steal glances at Ethan. Despite her initial embarrassment, she found solace in the fact that Ethan didn't seem to make a big deal out of her reaction. The day ended peacefully, and Mia hoped that the incident was forgotten, allowing them to focus on their dance partnership without any awkwardness.

The unspoken connection between Mia and Ethan continued to linger, and Mia couldn't help but wonder how their relationship would unfold as they spent more time together, both on and off the dance floor.
