On the next day after the infermery incident. As the morning sun cast a golden hue over the university campus, Mia felt a gentle tap on her shoulder. Turning around, she was met with the warm smile of her childhood friend, Alex. He stood tall in a stylish black outfit, his eyes sparkling with familiarity. Mia's surprise quickly transformed into sheer delight, and she pulled him into a tight hug.

"Hey, Mia," Alex chuckled, his voice tinged with laughter, "Easy on the hugs, it hurts a little!"

Breaking the hug, Mia couldn't contain her excitement. "Alex! It's been such a long time!"

With a grin, Alex replied, "I've been studying abroad, but now I'm back here, joining this university again."

Mia's eyes lit up. "You have no idea how much I missed you when you went away for studies."

"I missed you too," Alex confessed, his smile genuine. "And now that I'm back, we're going to have as much fun as we used to, just like old times."

"Of course, we will!" Mia beamed, her happiness contagious. They started walking together towards the university hallway, reminiscing about their shared memories and catching up on each other's lives.

As they chatted animatedly, reliving their past adventures and sharing stories of their experiences, Mia and Alex lost track of time. Their laughter echoed through the empty corridors, filling the air with a sense of camaraderie and nostalgia.

Suddenly, Lily, Mia's best friend, approached them with a curious expression. "Mia, who's this handsome stranger?" she teased, her eyes twinkling with amusement.

Mia grinned mischievously. "Lily, meet Alex, my childhood friend. He used to study here, then he went abroad for a while, and now he's back!"

Lily extended her hand, a warm smile on her face. "Hi, nice to meet you, Alex."

Alex shook Lily's hand with a friendly smile. "Nice to meet you too, Lily. Mia's told me so much about you."

In the midst of their conversation, Alex's playful demeanor shone through. With a mock serious expression, he leaned in closer to Mia and asked, "Is everything alright? The students here didn't mess with you, did they?"

Mia, trying to suppress a smile, replied with a hint of sarcasm, "Oh, they wouldn't dare. I've got my bodyguard right here," gesturing playfully toward Alex.

Alex laughed, his confidence unwavering. "Exactly. If someone messes with you, just say the word. I'll kick his ass, no questions asked."

Mia couldn't help but burst into laughter at his exaggerated confidence. "Alright, alright, tough guy. I'll keep that in mind," she said, her eyes twinkling with amusement.

Meanwhile, at the doorway, Ethan overheard snippets of a conversation among some students. One of them said, "Hey, did you see Alex? He's back and he seems really close to Mia. Are they dating or something?"

Ethan, uninterested in their gossip, interrupted in a cold tone, "If your gossip is over, then will you please get out of my way?" His stern gaze silenced them immediately, and they hurriedly excused themselves,

Ethan made his way to his desk, his eyes involuntarily flickering toward Mia and Alex, who were still engaged in their conversation. For a moment, he observed them, his expression unreadable. Then, without a word, he put his head down on the desk, a mix of emotions churning within him.

The professor, unaware of the subtle dynamics unfolding among the students, continued with the lecture, delving into the intricacies of mathematical equations.
