Dark Gray

Chapter 2

The sun was blazing through the bedroom windows on the bare back of Matteo. The heat caused him to toss and turn around, the alarm struck 7.00 and rang in a really annoying tone. The bright light reflected in the calming blue color paint in the walls. The gray floor was sleek and shiny just like the master lying sound asleep in the Gray bed.

Matteo groaned and snoozed the alarm. He woke up and stretched his hands and pickup up his shirt, he walk to the closet and changed to his running attire. Leo entered the room with a bang. "it's 7 in the morning, you're going for a jog now?" Matteo was confused as well, he remembered he set the alarm for 5, maybe someone changed it but he didn't want to see to it now. Instead he gave Leo, a so what? Look in his face. "It's weird..."

Matteo had him now, "if this is weird, peeking into my room after I sleep is also weird, I guess..." He raised his eyebrows at him. "if I hadn't checked on you, you're floor would be flooded by now, and who know? Maybe you would have drowned."

Matteo let out a little chuckle and undressed himself once again to wear his normal shirt and shorts. He walked past Leo who had a grim expression for his friend's behavior. The aroma of his morning coffee was lingering in the air as the descended down the stairs and headed towards the table. His secretary-Iain was waiting for him with a apple iPad in his hand, Matteo settled own in his chair and sipped his morning dose of caffeine. Then he set his cup, his secretary placed the iPad in front of his boss and handed him the stylus.

"Sir, I have evaluated the profit of this month's weaponry dispatch. It's 5% more than average." Matteo paused for a few seconds and clenched his jaw, looked at his secretary with a frustrating face. Iain looked frightened gulped down twice, his hands fidgeting. "then what about the month before?" The stylus was being played by his long tanned fingers. His secretary remain silent, Beads of sweat trickled from his head to his jawline. His voice shuttering, he muttered, "it was 10% more than average, Sir."

"So you are telling me that you are ashamed to admit that we have 5% lose compared to previous month? Is that right?", his voice was deep, maybe because he just woke up, but it surely made his secretary shake up so much. "yes sir, I thought..."

"You thought it would be alright as long as I don't see the records, am I right?" On this words, Iain looked like he's about to pee in his pants. "The dispatch of G20 hand guns are missing from the ware house. Look into the details of it and I want to know what happened to them after my lunch or you can say your final goodbye to your family." Matteo was about to stand from the table when Iain whispered, "I'll find it out, sir. Please don't kill me. I'm the bread earner of my family".

Matteo didn't answer, he just waved his hand gesturing him to get out. Leo let out a loud sigh when Iain went out through the door. "you know he works for that shit, still you're letting him free? What the fuck are thinking, Matteo." Leo was clearly clueless about the plan he had. Matteo simply smiled and said, "I remember he works for him, But you're missing the fact Iain's loyal to his family, he'll do anything for his wife and children. He'll work for me when his boss threatens him with his family." Leo had a enchanting O with his mouth when he heard his friend's plan.

When he walked to the side of the window in the hall, an old granny took the glass and wiped the table. She then handed him a paper bag and with her sign language told him to have it. Matteo opened the bag and saw they were the candies which he liked so much. He smiled at her warmly and thanked her back in sign language gestures. Though he seemed cold towards others, he felt true and honesty in some people. "Leo what about the suit I told you about? Is it ready?" Leo was helping grandma with washing the dishes when he heard about it, he laughed said, "Don't make that a suit. Anyway it's ready and set in your dressing room."

Suddenly when his phone rang , Matteo was hesitant to attend it seeing the name flashed in it. He climbed upstairs back to his room, stripped naked and took a shower in the hot water. He stepped out of the shower and walked to his closet and took a white towel and wrapped himself up. Then he saw his dress Leo had set for him. Surely it was not a suit but a casual wear but it was a suit for Matteo, he always wore casuals for events or meeting. Only when he's going for a murder he would wear a suit.

Wearing the dress he chose a Tommy Hilfiger from his collection and wore it in his left wrist. His hair looked messier as ever and when he ran his fingers through them, it looked more messier but more hotter as well.

Today's lunch won't be easier, he would meet with father and his aunt. They would have plans for his as well and he won't be okay with it. He gotta get ready with every counter he could for the attacks they would throw at him. He descended once again through the stairs and he saw Leo alone in the sofa when he saw Matteo he straightened his suit and accompanied him out. They headed down the lift and walked to the garage. His Audi was ready for a long drive, Leo started the car and Matteo sat in the passenger seat. Their car exited the garage and hit the main road.
