Life might be simpler than we think it is. It might seem strange but I really think it is. For example right now I could just be sleeping in my bed.
What's the use of being here at all? Let's take it straight, 80% of the people who are going to leave from here are going to live miserable lives because this system is not teaching us how to get rich but how to fit in their little boxes and get the bare minimum to survive.
But get me right, I don't hate school it's just that I'm tired of being around here. Of the 17 years of my life I've been here for 15 so at some point isn't it too much ?
Shit, I forgot my manners. My name is Belomo Julia, 17. I'm in Upper sixth science, I live in Cameroon and I'm your local private school student. A typical nerd, and a musical wannabe perhaps.
So as I was saying here am I in my Monday morning Pure Maths with Mechanics class and sometimes I ask myself why did I choose to do the science because right now we are basically trying to look for the speed at which a ball will fall off from a chair.
Why on earth do we need to know that! The teacher is just as lost as us. I don't want to be petty but he is unqualified and we have to deal with that.
This is just an ordinary day at Excellence High School (note the sarcasm)
As I was about to rearrange my desk inorder to continue my nap, the bell goes. As usual Mr Belinga will stay in class till the other teacher comes. Such a nice guy right.
In Cameroon we don't go to our classes, our teachers come to our class instead we means we can sit straight for 9 hours on hard benches.
Anyways the day goes by as ordinary as usual and then comes lunch break. The only moment where we are allowed to socialise. So I go and meet my closest friend, Bouba Alida.
I can recognize her back figure even in the dark. With her signature pink hair tie and slim skirt, no one can miss her. I on the other hand, I don't really care about those stuff. If I am comfy then it is alright.
As I come closer to her on the balcony I see her attention is focused downstairs, on the school canteen.
-Have you seen the new guy of the arts class says Bouba
-Nope
-You should meet him, the guy is sooo hot. Like seriously have you seen his shoulders and his jawline is so perfect. Just look that's him at the canteen.
And I just turned in time to look at the said specimen. Indeed he is quite good looking but I'm not really into guys right now you know. Don't get me wrong, I am not just interested in a high school relationship.
They are time consuming and rarely last beyond six months.I need to be focused to get my straight A's but my friend Bouba here doesn't seem to get me. To her love is blind and should be lived to the fullest. What a romantic girl right. But with her light skin, and skinny figure it is very much easy to say so. She is basically a heart stopper and all the guys want her.
Unfortunately for them, her heart was taken long time ago by a lucky one called Eteme since form 4 and they are still together till date.
So I turn back my attention to her
- I can't have 5 A's with distractions like this
-Just try this time, he might be the one she says
-Yeah just like Kenfack, Momo, Agbor, Awa, should I continue, I say looking away
-But look just try once she says pouting
-You already know my opinion on this one girl.
-You are such a killjoy
