THE TIME VARIANCE AUTHORITY - TIME THEATRE 25 - TIME UNKNOWN
What bureaucratic nonsense is this?
Three lizard creatures dictating the flow of time? Honestly, what a load of bunkum. Still... Playing along for now is probably wise.
For their sake, of course. Wouldn't want to show my hand too early. Reveal what the God of Mischief is really made of. No, I'll let them squirm a li-
"Look, I'm gonna be straight with you here-" Agent M. Mobius had his arms resting on the table separating the pair, Loki sat with his arms crossed over his chest as he eyed the man closely. Mobius sighed, glancing down at the file before swiftly closing it and leaning back in his seat, looking across at the God sat before him. "I saved you from being reset because I have a proposition for you." He shrugged ever so slightly, tilting his head. Loki narrowed his eyes, lips in a tight line, keeping his expression impassive. When he didn't say anything, Mobius took it as a sign to continue, moving to grab a can of soda from the edge of the table, cracking it open with a hiss. "I hunt particularly dangerous variants-"
"Like me." Loki finally spoke, raising his chin slightly. However, he faltered ever so slightly as Mobius gave a brief chuckle, shaking his head.
"No- You're a pussycat, I mean actual dangerous variants-" Mobius mused, raising a brow as Loki let out a slow breath, trying to hide his irritation at the man. "And it just so happens, I've been hunting an elusive variant for some time now. They're slippery, I'll give them that." He huffed out a short breath of wry amusement.
"I fail to see how that's my problem." Loki tilted his head slightly, pursing his lips. Mobius stayed silent for a moment, simply looking across at Loki as he took a slow slip of his soda. Loki fought the urge to roll his eyes as the agent took a sip of his soda.
This agent really does love to draw things out.
"I'm a busy man." Loki said, tone holding a hint of impatience. "Realms to conquer, thrones to sit on, you know how it goes." He shrugged, a small smirk pulling at his lips at his own wry words. Mobius gave a quiet chuckle, nodding, placing the can of soda down on the table.
"Right- Right, of course." Mobius smirked in return, amusement dancing in his eyes. "Very well." He paused. "Well, it's your 'problem', so to speak, because the variant we've been hunting..." Another pause. "Is in connection to you."
Loki blinked at the information, brows furrowing ever so slightly.
To me? Who? My oafish brother? No, terrorising an organisation that supposedly brings order isn't his style...
"In connection?" Loki huffed out a dry laugh. "Forgive me, but that's incredibly vague, I'm going to need you to be more specific than that." He raised a brow, angling his head down slightly as he kept his arms folded across his chest.
"Alright, Flash-" Mobius quipped, holding a hand up. "I'm getting there." He said in amusement, giving a quick nod as Loki let out a agitated breath. "We were able to get a quick reading of their time signature, which is how we were able to work out which timeline they came from..." He began to explain, hands moving as he spoke. "Leading the trail to... Your timeline." He tilted his head.
"Are you going to elaborate or leave me hanging in suspense, Agent?" Loki quipped wryly, unfolding his arms as he held out his hands before settling them on the edge of the table. "Well?" Loki pressed, brows raised, holding the agents gaze. Mobius let out a quiet breath at Loki's impatient tone, hand absentmindedly fiddling with the corner of the file.
"Unfortunately, we weren't able to grab their temporal aura, meaning we don't actually know who they are-" Mobius admitted as Loki rolled his eyes, shaking his head. "But come on, you have to admit... You're intrigued." Mobius continued, ignoring Loki's put on reaction. "Now, I know you're someone who doesn't like not knowing things, so I imagine this is really buggin' you." Mobius tilted his head, tone low and drawn out. Loki pursed his lips, keeping his expression neutral once more. "Someone out there... Causing chaos from your timeline... Someone who you know, or will know, we can't rule that out." Mobius paused. "They've been upping the anti recently, more ambushes on our minutemen, stealing reset charges, leaving without a trace..." Mobius continued, his voice tempting, trying to entice the God of Mischief.
Loki sat in silence, brows creasing ever so slightly at Mobius' words. The agent was right, it was bugging him. Well, more so intriguing him that necessarily 'bugging', so to speak. Whoever it was could be an ally... An ally who could help him overthrow these so-called 'Time Keepers' and rule the TVA for his own gain... It seemed whoever it was knew how to evade the organisation deftly, clearly knowing some weak spots he could exploit... Intriguing indeed...
How exciting...
"And if I agree to help in your little variant hunt..." Loki began lowly, narrowing his eyes. "What do I get in return?" He paused. "As I'm sure you understand, whilst knowledge is power and it will be an interesting venture to find out who your resident terroriser is... I need assurances." He raised his chin, holding an air of importance and authority, despite being the one in the collar and awful beige 'VARIANT' jumpsuit. Mobius gave a brief nod, glancing down at the file on the table. "Assurances that as soon as I do your bidding for you, I am not simply erased from existence."
"Alright." Mobius stated simply, looking back up at Loki as he leaned back in his seat. Loki blinked at the man, not expecting such an easy agreement.
"What?" Loki furrowed his brows.
"I said, 'alright'." Mobius shrugged.
"Right." Loki blinked once more, giving a strong nod of his head. "Good. Glad we are on the same page." A beat of silence passed between the two men, before Mobius moved to stand, Loki swiftly following as he kept his sea-blue eyes locked on the agent.
"Let's get to work."

ROXXCART, HAVEN HILLS - ALABAMA - 2050
Thunder, rain and wind hailed upon the eerily quiet superstore, the ceiling lights flickering only adding to the tense atmosphere. Although she had spent years now surviving by hiding in apocalypses, it still didn't stop the dull remnants of anxiety that sat in her chest, knowing it was only time before the storm swept through and destroyed everything. Even though she had been there time and time again, it didn't change a thing. She supposed it was the atmosphere itself, the panicked civilians hiding out in the green house for protection against the storm, even as it was a futile effort. With every apocalypse, she couldn't help but miss the safety and security of the life she once had. Whilst it was still dangerous, at least she had people around her, people she cared for, who cared for her... At least, she used to. Before it all went so very wrong.
Sighing, she moved towards the dry goods section, grabbing her usual glorious feast. And she waited, knowing exactly what would come next.
"Hey, you looking for the storm shelter?"
"No, thank you."
"Oh, okay, well, it's to the right of the store if you need."
It was probably the most human interaction she got, besides when she ambushed minutemen... Although, that wasn't really the interaction she had been missing out from. What was the point of getting to know anyone when everywhere she went those around her were doomed for death?
Rather bleak sentiments, I admit.
But she would succeed. She had endured too much, seen so much... This had to work.
Another clap of thunder sounded through the store from outside, as she let out a sigh, knowing it was time. The storm was mere minutes from decimating the building, the city... Grabbing the TemPad she had stolen all those years ago, she prepared to jump to the next apocalypse. This was her life. But she wouldn't let the TVA prevail. They would pay for what they did, she would take down the Time Keepers and ensure no one else was subjected to the life she was.
Even if she died trying.

A/N: Hello! Welcome!
Thank you for clicking on this story and taking the time to read! This is inspired by my POV series on TikTok 'Love Is A Dagger' which you can find oswildinpov. This will be more detailed and indepth and will probably vary from the way it's written in the POV story for the pure fact I can write more here and go into detail!
This will follow the Disney+ show events, but there will be differences and such to accommodate the story I'm telling (as goes with most fanfictions). Please keep the comment section polite and positive, I enjoyed the show and all characters in it, so I don't want to see any hate on any characters or choices made by the writers. I just want to tell the story I had an idea for and have people enjoy the ride! :)
So, sit back and enjoy!
