Jules"All set?" Niall asked me.
"Let me just say goodbye to my mom and dad before we go." I told him. He gave me a small nod from the driver seat before focusing on the phone in his hand.
I walked away from Niall's red truck and towards my family acreage. The three story wood building stood out in an endless sea of thick green gas as multiple gardens lined up all around it. I never lived anywhere outside the countryside, even staying at home for school. My dad never wanted me to study in the city. He preferred that I stay grounded and learn all about my family tradition then getting swept away in such a large place like New York. I never was bothered about it anyways. Whenever we needed to do large shopping me and my mom would drive to New York and buy whatever we needed before coming back next month. I had multiple chances to explore the city and I wasn't missing out on anything huge.
Well, I think.
Macy on the other hand did schooling in the city ever since she entered into high school. I couldn't deny that I was slightly jealous that she got such a big opportunity at a young age but I wasn't holding any grudge against her. I knew since I was a fifteen that I would attend college there and all I could do was be patient up until the day I graduated high school. Thanks to Niall, now it was guaranteed and I would be spending the next ten months living with him and taking a course that I loved.
Photography.
Ever since I was a child and my dad bought me a toy camera for my birthday, I knew then that I had a passion for it. I remember everyday I would go outside into the grape vines and take loads of pictures. Eventually I got tired of the toy because it wouldn't save any of the photos I took and I managed to convince my dad to buy me the real thing. As the years went by I would print out a collection of photos that I took and sort them into a large binder. I been using the binder for six years now and although it was torn and stained and I could barely fit anymore pictures inside I still cherished it with all my heart. All my memories were stored inside. My happiest moments and my darkest.
It's fair to say that I showed it to nobody. Not even Macy.
"Jules, honey. What are you doing back?" I heard my mother ask in surprise as I entered inside the kitchen.
"To say goodbye of course." I replied with a smile. I walked over and gave her a tight hug. My mother although is in her mid forties she could easily pass for a twenty five year old. Her body frame was slim and tall. Her skin was absolutely flawless and I could never spot a single wrinkle on her face, not even a grey hair. She always dressed to perfect. Whether in tight skirts or designer dresses. She never usually wore much makeup, but she didn't need it anyway. She was stunning with or without it. Sadly for me, I didn't possess her amazing genes. Instead I stood at a height of 5'7 and my hair resembled the colour of dog poop. I was generally fit with a heart shaped face and huge smile lines that annoyed the heck out of me. The only thing that I managed to capture was my mother's dark blue eyes. Besides that, the rest came from my dad.
"Oh, I'm going to miss you so much." She cries.
"It's okay mom, I'll behave and be back for Christmas. I can also come during some weekends as well." I tell her. I might have to force Niall to drive me for the long five hour drive but I'm sure he wouldn't mind.
"Of course." She sniffles, trying to hold in her tears. I smile before looking around the large, elegant kitchen.
"Where's Dad?" I ask. The last time I saw him he was in his suit and was talking on the phone rapidly to someone. From the looks of it, I was pretty sure it wasn't a calm nor simple conversation he was having.
