"Uhh" Solana yells throwing all her basketball things to the ground and ripping them, smashing all her basketball trophies.
"Solana Inaja Rowe!" Her mother yells, her husband right behind her
"No how could they do that they saw her pull my hair and push me and nothing but when I throw a punch at her face I'm suspended then kicked off the team"
"You were acting ugly Solana" Camille says and Solana rolls her eyes
"Did she- baby I got this you go" Camille says but Kevin touches her wife shoulders telling her to go
Camille leaves the room
"Solàna" her father says and she slams her hands on her dresser
"What!"
"You better lose that tone with me" he says putting base in his voice
"Sorry I'm just mad" she says slamming a toy on her desk
"Uh huh well you better chill out"
"Mmm" Solana says shooting her toy basketball in the trash
"So this is want your gonna do quit" her father says looking at her throw all her things away
"I didn't I was kicked off remember"
"Yea but that doesn't mean stop Solana you just made a pit stop you'll pick up again"
"How dad coach says I have a bad temper and the board said they can't have that on the team so I'm done if they can't take a that part of me maybe I don't need to play" she says
Her father grabs her hand and sits her down
"Hey you get that temper from your grandpa so blame him but you need to control it and let the coach handle it-" she cuts him off
"But you saw-"
"I wasn't finish yes that girl did play dirty but that doesn't give you the right to bust her lip and make her nose bleed" Solana laughs thinking about the girls face
"That's not funny your mom was stressed talking to the parents as they cussed us out well cussed your mom out but you don't quit on something you love munchkin your talented"
"I know but it's like the same thing every game I can't do me when I lash out I'm on the bench when I try to get the ball that's reaching and the other team gets free throw when we're losing everyone counts on me maybe I don't wanna play basketball anymore" she shrugs
"And that's up to you but I love seeing my daughter in a number 23 Jersey doing something she has been doing since she was 10"
"Ok dad but if I don't want to play basketball anymore what should I do"
"That's up to you but I hear you singing in the shower and in your room to Aaliyah and Monica all the time and if you listen to me your talented baby, you also can dance i seen you and Imani that one day having a dance battle in her room Imani won but you-" he says but Solana punches his arm when talking about the dance battle
"Oww" he laughs rubbing his arm
"Thanks dad" Solana says putting her head on his shoulder
He wraps his arm around his daughter and kisses her head
"No problem but clean all this up got Jordan on the floor getting stepped on" he says and Solana picks up her poster and hangs it back on the wall
