tw: suicide mention
She ended up binging the entire season of Lust Conquers All that night. It was like a weird mix of Love Island and Too Hot To Handle. The whole process of reality TV upset her, her mother forcing her to constantly watch Real Housewives and Keeping Up With The Kardashians had an impact on the way she saw herself.
Seeing Jamie act like an even bigger fuck boy was both hilarious and embarrassing all at the same time. Vic had spent enough time in American high school to know that all fuck boys we just insecure little boys that wanted attention. It still made her uncomfortable to watch him getting it on with practically every girl in the villa. So it was rightfully deserved when he was voted off.
It also recently came out that Pep wasn't bringing him back, big news but no shock.
She didn't think it had anything to do with her until her lunch hour the next day. Keeley had just left the coffee shop where they would meet several times a week to debrief on what had happened that day, she was scrolling through her phone at their normal table when a figure caught her attention out of the corner of her eye. A man wearing all black and sunglasses standing there watching her, poorly hiding behind a display.
Victoria could recognize that cocky bastard anywhere, "Jamie I see you." She spoke, putting her phone down and crossing her arms. He looked around to see if anyone else had recognized him before quickly crossing the floor to take the seat across from her formerly occupied by Keeley.
He took his sunglasses off before speaking, "I'm not stalking ya. I've been following you and Keeley for like a few blocks now and I couldn't text you 'cause I deleted your number." She opened her mouth stunned, about to speak but he continued, "So, I was in town, and I wanted to talk 'cause I left Man City to do this reality TV show thing and I got kicked off of both. So now I don't know what I'm doing but I just wanted to talk to someone about it 'cause- whenever I think of talking about shit I think of you and the stupid ritual thing." He was playing with his hands now, elbows resting on the table. He seemed different, vulnerable almost.
He remembers that night? That was the last night we all had together before he went back.
"So yeah, I've been following you for the last few blocks." He paused, almost contemplating his next words. "No, I'm lying, I've been following you for your whole lunch hour." Her eyes widened a little. "But I've just been trying to build up the courage to say hi. So..." He looked away almost nervously, "hi."
She continued to stare at him for a second before speaking, "First of all, that seems really stalkerish. Second, you deleted my number? Third, I know about the show I watched it, you had something good with Amy and you fucked it up by the way. Fourth, why not talk to Keeley about this? Fifth, why should I listen to you after all the shit you said about Richmond?" Vic crossed her arms tighter in front of her chest, almost protectively.
Jamie blinked for a second trying to come up with anything at all to say back, "Can I just talk to you, Victoria?" He leaned a little closer, "Please?"
She uncrossed her arms, running her hands through her hair again, he seemed miserable almost, no cocky smile, no teasing attitude, nothing at all. Vic felt bad in a weird way, in a really weird way but had to remember how much shit he had caused. Even before he left he was causing shit. Ever since he had gone back to Man City Issac and Colin had really come into their own, not just being Jamie's groupies, becoming their own people instead of just blindly following after Jamie. And the way he treated Sam, that was what really rattled her.
"You were an asshole, Jamie. With all the shit you said at press conferences, about Richmond, about Ted, about me." She huffed, "I didn't do shit to you, neither did Ted. He didn't send you back, Rebecca did! She wanted to destroy the only thing Rupert loved, which was the team, so she sent you back. But she regrets it now. But even before you went back you were a total and utter asshole, to everyone but especially to Sam." Vic stood now, throwing her backpack over her shoulders. He looked almost pathetic, her mind going back to the night after the Man City game, seeing the way his dad was talking to him, "Your dads a dick, okay I get that, mine is too." She met his eyes again, "But that doesn't give you the right to be shitty to everyone else."
