The Bloodmoon twins were walking on a path in the middle of the forest, on the way back home, chattering and chuckling and bragging about how good their hunt had been. It was already sunset and soon the dark would come to wake up the owls.
The red animatronic walked for another ten solid minutes before reaching the base, and when they were there, they stopped a few feet away, falling completely silent for a second. The base was huge, made out of solid metal and very few and small windows for daylight to enter the thick walls. They got ready and Bloodmoon shouted -"FATHEEER! WE'RE HOME!"- ....silence. Then the monumental doors started opening, there was no one to greet the animatronic behind them tho. Bloodmoon entered the dark building and made their way deeper in it. Stairs, platforms and big part of the floor was made out of metal grates, so it wasn't really a quiet walk.
As the robot walked towards a fairly wide platform, they immediately noticed a tall, dark, moon looking animatronic. -"Welcome back... my child"-. It was Killcode, their 'father' as he called himself, and of course they weren't scared of him at all, quite the opposite, they picked up the pace to reach him faster and with a relatively calm smile Bloodmoon cheered -"Father, Father! Today the feast was great!"-, receiving a nod of approval from the way taller animatronic -"That is amazing son. Now, let's get those blood stains off of you"- he offered, placing a hand on their back and leading them to their room, way deeper into the base.
As the two animatronics walked, they passed by an open lab and Bloodmoon's eyes fell on a busy Eclipse, their older brother according to Killcode. The sun themed robot stopped working and looked back at them, his eyes narrowing. The bloody boys growled, wishing they could stick their tongue out, thing that wasn't physically possible since they didn't have an openable mouth, let alone a tongue. They could give him the finger... but then again, Killcode was surely going to scold them for that, so they just let Eclipse be and simply continued walking. After a few minutes of infinite hallways and stairs, Bloodmoon and Killcode reached Bloodmoon's room and entered. The room was quite dark even with lights on, having just a few small red lights attached to the walls. On the left corner of the bedroom, as far as possible from the door, was a big hammock and right next to it a very messy bed with cushions on the ground and undone sheets. The rest of the room was quite stark aside for a few furnitures and chains, random things all over the floor and shelves with blood filled flasks. The most out-of-context thing was a small space inside the right corner wall, with a little sink, two basins, a body scrub sponge and a few towels. Bloodmoon already knew the drill. They sat on a short footstool and watched their father fill up the basin with cold water and placing it beside them. Killcode then soaked the sponge in the water and started gently but firmly scrubbing his children's back, EXTREMELY careful not to get the liquid on their wires. Bloodmoon trusted their father on this, since it was far from being the first time for him to take care of such thing, so they waited for him to finish the work on their back so that they could do the rest on their own. When all the scrubbing was done and the blood was cleaned off, Killcode handed his sons a big towel to dry their body properly, then turned around to look at their room and sighed -"You really have to keep your room tidier"-. The red animatronic grumbled -"But we like chaos"- and then specified -"Our chaos"- making Killcode sigh again. The tall animatronic noticed they were having problems with the towel, walked to them, took it from their hands and gave them a good, rough drying, making them growl and squirm, throwing their fists in the air and kicking their legs. Without saying a word Killcode dropped the towel and walked to the bedroom's door. Before opening it he turned to Bloodmoon and commanded -"Now deal with the stuff"- and by 'the stuff' he meant all the items they used to scrub off the blood from them. -"And come to the kitchen when you're done"- Killcode finished before disappearing behind the door.
The 'kitchen' wasn't really a place to eat of course. It was just a room that resembled it, with a big wooden table and four heavy metal chairs, a fridge that actually contained only blood bags for Bloodmoon and chemical substances for Eclipse's work and experiments and all the other things that one would find in an actual kitchen, but of course all empty.
When they were done in their room, Bloodmoon started walking in the base. A few hallways and stairs and they were there, before the kitchen's wide open door. Inside there was both Eclipse and Killcode already, one sitting loosely on a chair and the other leaning against the table. -"About time..." Eclipse commented, making the twins growl at him, clanging their fists. They walked to the table and sat on the right side chair, knowing what to expect from the next few minutes. This was the time of the day where the family would stay with each other and maybe talk about their days and Bloodmoon hated it just as much as Eclipse did. It was Killcode's idea of course and he didn't have a single problem forcing his kids through it. -"Alright, now that we're all here, how was your day Bloodmoon"- the heavy blue animatronic turned to the smaller red one, which got quite excited thinking about the past day. -"It was great!"- -"Very satisfying"- -"there was blood and guts and flesh and death everywhere! No one was left alive."-
Eclipse looked very unamused. -"The usual then"- he commented sassy. -"Killcode how about you change your question? How about... 'what PrOduCtiVe things did you do today'? I'm sure that gremlin wouldn't have much to say. Maybe it's the time when they'll shut up once and for all"- he teased and the so called 'gremlins' jumped up and hissed at him, furious. -"Enough Eclipse! Instead... how was Your day? What productive things did YOU do?"- Killcode boomed, his eyes narrowing with a stern look on his face and at which Eclipse replied with "Oh you know, just... reinforcing the base's defenses, gathering materials, coding the most of Solar Flare's being and starting its endoskeleton, experimenting new chemicals... Oh, and also repaired that non functioning door you were talking about yesterday"- leaving Killcode bitterly silent cause he recognized it was a lot of stuff done in just one day. Bloodmoon looked at the moon themed animatronic with anger and hope in their eyes. "Father, say something!" - but he only looked back at them in defeat.
The twins flinched in disbelief, their eye twitched and they clenched their firsts and scoffed angrily -"AGH no No NO! It's not fair, It's not true! WE ALSO DO USEFUL THINGS!"- -"We do! We DO!"-. Eclipse raised an eyebrow and looked at the red animatronic. -"What then?" he asked, making Bloodmoon flinch -"Uhh... like... like..."- Eclipse stared and the shorter, red animatronic froze, feeling immense rage building up inside them. That anger then exploded. -"AGH!!"- Bloodmoon shouted and darted out of the door, running for the base's exit, hearing Eclipse's laughter behind them. If there was something that really got on their nerves, it was feeling cornered in a situation where they didn't have the upper hand. Their just-calmed bloodlust intensified dangerously and in a couple of seconds they were out of the building, up for a killing spree.
Killcode looked at Eclipse, indignant and narrowed his eyes. -"You have crossed the line with that one. They just came back and they're already out"- . Eclipse looked back at him and scoffed -"Ugh relax. Knowing those two they'll either be back tomorrow night or the morning right after"-. Killcode already knew this and he wasn't bothered by the fact that Bloodmoon could go days without coming back and then just randomly appear at the front door, no... it was something more important than that. He looked at the ground with a sad face -"Yes... but it is not the point.... Today I wanted to ask them... if they wanted to be taught blood magic..."-. Eclipse just stared at him and got off the chair with a now serious expression -"I will never understand you"- he mumbled and walked away. Killcode stopped him with a confused question mark in his gaze -"Pardon?"- the orange sun themed robot scoffed once again and turned to him with an annoyed grimace -"You always act like we're a damn family, when we are actually just a trio of stray dogs fighting for the bone we teamed up to get! But you do you, be my guest, continue to play family as much as you wish, I have more important stuff to do"- and with that he walked off, leaving Killcode alone in the loud silence of the room.
