Safe to say the three of them were extensively astonished at his actions!
“I’m sorry Peach, I just feel like I deserve an answer to things I puzzle about in my mind. Especially if there’s someone there to answer.“ He said to Adilene
She was boiling inside with anger. The audacity of him to think that he deserved anything and the extent of even touching her.
The only thing he deserved was all the bad words she could muster up. But she was the kind of girl who didn't even know how to show anger, so instead her reply was “My name is Adilene not Peach but YOU, can call me Adi.” Making it obvious that the last part of her sentence was addressed to Louisa alone.
Micheal just watched her with an expressionless face. He couldn’t understand what his mistake was in asking.
They agree to begin the work at Louisa's house, starting the next day.
Adilene watched his towering silent figure stroll behind his sister as they left. He turned and smirked at her.
She wondered how they were even twins or of the same blood...Louisa is sweet and welcoming and he is just somebody with a terrible personality.
Now she wasn’t even sorry about ruining his shirt. ‘ The king’s shirt’ she heard herself mockingly say as she rolled her eyes.
Her brain hurt just from standing there and looking.
The next day started to roll back fast as usual. She decided to head to the local court to settle the rest of their legal issue since their move a week ago. She had planned to do it with her mom but the sacrifice of having to move here had already started. Her mom couldn’t make it out of work earlier than 7:00 clock this entire week.
She entered the huge hall, her head so focused on the papers in her hands. Arranging and rearranging them before reaching the office. In her rush state of being a perfectionist, she bumped into a surface, spilling her hard work on the floor.
“Damn it! Do you have a knack for bumping into people, Miss Gray!”
Adilene was shocked to encounter him again, here of all places.
“I’m so sorry Michael..”
“It’s Mr.Taylor to you!” He interrupted.
“ Are you okay, miss? Forgive his tune, it’s not a good day. Do you two know each other ?”
Adilene finally noticed there was another guy near him. The guy was now helping her gather up her papers as he spoke. Michael just stood there watching her like the accident wasn't partly his fault.
He had on a navy blue suit with not a single hint of crease, tailored to his perfection, emanating an aura of dominance and sophistication.
“ Do you two know each other ?” the guy asked again, making sure Adilene and Micheal both acknowledged his question this time.
“Let’s just say compared to me, she’s a child in that head of hers,” Michael replied before he walked off.
Adilene eyes followed his movements from her place on the floor.
His shoulders were high and not turn back as he called on the guy to follow him. The guy who was called Jaden apologized to Adilene before hurrying behind, leaving her there in her state of shock. His rudeness was continually becoming despicable! she thought.
Some hours later, Adi stood under the street sign as she checked the house number for Loiusa’s home.
She came face to face with a huge white fence that seemed to stretch on forever. 29B . After about two minutes of walking along the fence, she finally reached the front
Her eyes almost dropped out of their socket as she marveled at the gigantic beautiful white mansion at the end of the fence. The side of it stretched behind the fence, insinuating its largeness.
It had huge black glass windows on every part. With well-trimmed lawns in front, two side fountains, and a sparkling driveway. At the front, a tall man who seemed to be a guard instantly gestured for her to go in.
His request was unexpected but she obliged. After all, it seems to be part of the mansion’s polishness.
Inside the luxurious living room, she tried not to show her surprise. She was getting anxious with no one in sight. The man at the door seemed to know that she was expected but now she didn't know where to go in this massive space.
The silence was bringing back memories of her childhood when she would stay alone at home. Magdalene, her mom, worked two jobs as a single mother. She was surrounded by a neighborhood of intimate family but when all the cousins parted ways after school; in that home it was just her alone with her sad thoughts.
The silence was so loud with words of her not being worthy and destined for love. It was deafening with flashes of her father leaving her that cold December morning as her young self shouted his name from her bedroom window.
This tortuous silence became her energy, her food. She stopped taking in anything just trying to understand and fill the emptiness inside of her. But being diagnosed with anorexia was her breaking point.
The pain and shame on her mother’s face when she found out her 13-year-old daughter had been sick for a month without her knowledge. Just how bad her work schedule was. Just what kind of mother was she?
The sound of a text from Louisa telling her to go up the stairs startled her out of the silence.
The hallways she entered were full of white doors facing each other. She threaded through trying to be as silent as the walls but somebody else seemed to have the opposite in mind. She stopped in her tracks when she heard a faint murmur coming from one of the doors up front.
Her feet started to move slowly towards the sound.
She reached the front of the open door where the sound came out. She felt weird upon the sight. Her legs got stuck in its spot.
She witnessed a girl straddling Micheal on the bed. The blonde girl moved every portion of her body on his welcoming figure. He had his hand roaming under her blouse as they made out intensely.
For some time, she seemed to go unnoticed watching them. In a second Micheal lifted his head from the girl’s neck and their eyes met across the room. For so slight a second, Adilene thought she had seen shame or regret but his face soon formed into his careless boy smirk.
He kept his eyes on her as he continued to roam his hand over the girl's body, kissing her neck.
His personality was becoming too conflicting. One minute he looks like a college playboy, the next minute he’s a stuck sophisticated mature man and then he’s back in FBoy mode. Literally in hours.
Adilene kept standing there. Their eyes had met but she didn’t seem to care, rather it was like his eyes on her as he went about his inappropriate behavior was rooting her feet in the ground. The weirdness sank deeper into her stomach.
Her mind needed to take control of her body when it came to this guy!
“Who are you staring at?” the girl on his lap said as she turned her head.
