Natalie had known Alex for a while now, and she enjoyed spending time with her. They often hung out together, went on walks, and had deep conversations. But lately, Alex noticed that Natalie was being distant towards her.
What could be the reason?
-----
Alex and Natalie had been best friends for as long as they could remember. They did everything together, from studying for exams to going to the movies on weekends.
But one day, Alex noticed that Natalie was being distant towards her. She would avoid her calls and texts, and when they hung out, she seemed preoccupied and distant.
"Hey, Natalie, is everything okay?" Alex asked, as they were sitting in the park.
Natalie looked up from her phone and forced a smile.
"Yeah, everything's fine. Why do you ask?" she said, hoping that Alex wouldn't push the issue.
"I don't know, you just seem a little distant lately. Is there anything that you want to talk about?" Alex said, looking at her with concern.
Natalie felt a sense of guilt wash over her. She knew that she couldn't keep avoiding the issue forever.
"Actually, Alex, there is something that I want to talk to you about. It's just that...I don't know how to say it," Natalie said, feeling a sense of nervousness.
"It's okay, Natalie. You can tell me anything," Alex said, reaching out to take her hand.
Natalie felt a sense of warmth and comfort at her touch, but she knew that she had to be honest with her.
"The truth is, Alex, I've been feeling really overwhelmed lately. I have a lot going on in my life right now, and I just don't know how to deal with it all," Natalie said, looking at her with vulnerability.
Alex nodded understandingly. "I'm sorry that you're going through a tough time, Natalie. Is there anything that I can do to help?"
Natalie shook her head. "No, it's not something that you can help with. I just need some time to figure things out," she said, looking away.
Alex felt a sense of sadness wash over her. She didn't know what was going on with Natalie, but she knew that she wanted to be there for her, no matter what.
"Okay, Natalie. Just know that I'm here for you, whenever you need me," Alex said, smiling at her.
Natalie smiled weakly back at her, feeling a sense of gratitude and appreciation for her friendship. She knew that she could always count on Alex to be there for her, no matter what.
But, is that really natalie's reason? Or maybe,
there's another reason...?

Natalie's POV before their Alex conversation.
Natalie sat nervously in the corner of the cafe, sipping her coffee and checking her phone every few minutes. She was waiting for someone, someone who she hadn't seen in years.
She had received a message from him out of the blue, telling her to meet him at this cafe at this exact time. She didn't know what to expect, but she couldn't resist the urge to see him again.
As she waited, memories flooded back to her from their past together. They had been close, but something had happened that had caused them to drift apart.
She remembered the way he used to make her laugh, the way he would hold her hand and tell her everything was going to be okay. She missed him, but she didn't know if she was ready to face him again.
Suddenly, she saw him walk through the door, and her heart skipped a beat. He looked just as she remembered him, with his dark hair and piercing dark brown eyes.
"Hey, Natalie," he said, walking over to her table and taking a seat. "It's been a long time."
Natalie felt a sense of nervousness wash over her.
"Yeah, it has," she said, taking a deep breath. "So, what did you want to talk about?"
He looked at her with intensity. "I know it's been a long time, but I just wanted to say that I'm sorry. I'm sorry for everything that happened between us, and I want to make things right."
Natalie felt a sense of surprise at his words. She had never expected him to apologize, but she felt a sense of relief at the same time.
"It's okay," she said, smiling weakly. "I forgive you."
He smiled back at her, and for a moment, they sat in silence, just looking at each other.
"Natalie, I know that we can't go back to the way things were, but I just wanted you to know that I still care about you. And if you ever need anything, anything at all, I'm here for you," he said, reaching out to take her hand.
Natalie felt a sense of warmth and comfort at his touch, and she knew that she could always count on him to be there for her, no matter what.
"Thank you," she said, feeling a sense of gratitude and appreciation for his words.
As she left the cafe and headed to meet Alex, she felt a sense of clarity and peace. She knew that she had a past with this secret guy, but she also knew that she had a present with Alex, and she was grateful for both.
Who is this guy?
