As shinobu walks out of the the room Giyuu feels empty. Sanemi is probably dead. Or he's at least going to be. In a few days Sanemi will be buried. If he doesn't wake up Giyuu won't be able to live with himself. He'll feel at fault for another death. First; his sister. Then; Sabito. That's why he wears their kimonos. Because he misses them and wants to apologize. Apologize for being the reason they died. If only he was stronger. And now; it's Sanemi. Another life lost because of him. How could God still keep him alive after he's been so sick. So twisted to let these people die. They all three died protecting him.
Giyuu cried that day. He hasn't cried since Sanemi first got hurt. He just couldn't get the tears out of him. But as of right now, that empty feeling didn't matter. It didn't exist anymore. All Giyuu felt was sorrow. All he had ever felt for most of his his was sorrow, but this was different. This time he had no more room for self-pity.
Giyuu sobbed into the sheets of the bed, soaking them. He cried for what felt like hours, and probably was. He cried until he couldn't cry anymore. He cried till his eyes felt heavy and he fell asleep.
Giyuu dreamed that night. It was a lovely dream. Sabito and Tsutako were sitting on a blanket in a park. He was walking up a hill, Sanemi right by his side. They were holding hands, and Sanemi was holding a picnic basket. Both of them sat next to Sabito and Tsutako. Then all three of them ate.
Then the dream changed. He was in a room, the only light from a window. It made the room glow a warm yellow. He was in bed, warm. He felt arms around him. Sanemi. They were cuddling. It was nice, peaceful. Giyuu didn't think of anything else. He was living in the moment.
"Yuu..." A voice called. "Giyuu?" Giyuu turned over, looking at Sanemi, who still had his arms around Giyuu, he was still warm. "Giyuu!" Sanemi yelled at him, and he stared, confused. "Giyuu, wake up."
Giyuu opened his eyes, slowly. He lifted his head and blinked his eyes, as they were blurry from just waking up.
As his eyes started to focus he saw Sanemi, worried expression, hand on Giyuu's shoulder. Giyuu's eyes grew wide. Sanemi was awake. Sanemi was awake!
Giyuu jumped up, wrapping Sanemi in a hug, not caring if it seemed weird. Sanemi hugged him back.
For the second time in twelve hours, Giyuu cried. But this time. It was happy.
