Sadé Clark is a young adult just trying to navigate the world. A talented beautician and secret poet, Sadè soon finds herself in a world of grief and despair after the passing of her one true love two years prior. Because of the trauma and grief, she decides to move back into her mother's house that she left her. Making it her main focus to keep her attention focused directly on work and her poetry, she didn't have the time nor the energy to date. Or so she thought.
Adonis Wright was a man who just wanted to be somebody. With his baby mother hooked on drugs and his main priority being his daughter's safety, he didn't have the time to reach for the stars and aim higher than he should, hence why his dream fell into the melting pot of his younger brother. So to make ends meet he works a rather shitty job with decent pay as a package delivery.
While working shift at the beauty salon, Sadé ends up crossing paths with Adonis who just so happened to be bringing in a package. While he shows obvious interest, the young woman isn't giving him the time of day.
After some time passes, Sadé has to attend an important interview in Washington to advance what she thought might be the career she was meant to in, however, when her car breaks down, she ends up having to seek refuge with the same person she turned down earlier to reach her destination.
Amid the tensions brewing, with her best friend and his best friend at her side, anything seems possible. But will tragedy be all it takes for it to come all come crumbling down?
