Earth is shown rotated in deep space. A full moon orbiting around it and the sun shining brightly in the center.
Everyone was in awe at this, especially the humans. In front of them on screen was a planet that looked very much like their own.
But a destroyed Cybertronian spaceship zoomed past the camera and headed towards Earth.
Cliffjumper blinked back coolant tears as he recognized whose spaceship it was. He stared at it with sadness in his optics. He could almost imagine what his brother has done to protect the freedom of others. Arcee held his servo and Jazz placed his servo on his shoulder-plate while Bumblebee and Bulkhead placed their respective servos on his back. Optimus Prime gently patted his other shoulder-plate while Ratchet gave him a sympathetic look.
The scene had immediately changed to the desert of Nevada. Torrents of rain poured down from the stormy skies. Dark storm clouds swirled in the sky, flickering with flashes of lightning and rumbling with powerful thunder. The rain drops sounded like pebbles hitting against the road.
But as the cold rain poured down upon the asphalt of the long stretch of highway a lone white car could be seen slowly making its way. Upon further examination a young woman with black hair and blue eyes sat behind the wheel, a calm and determined expression on her face.
"Mom!" exclaimed Jack and Nova at the same time.
"Mom!" Greg smiled at her brightly.
June Darby smiled warmly at her three unique children. They have been born by chance, but she loves them nevertheless.
Unaware to June, a large object had appeared in the sky and as it fell it passed over the roof of June's car, causing the vehicle and its surroundings to shake. The shaking caused June to look up startled as she saw what looked to be some kind of aircraft that had flown overhead. As June continued to watch the aircraft veer down and crashed.
Cliffjumper looked down, unsure of how to keep his grief at bay. Wheeljack flinched as he remembered his crash landing and unexpected capture.
The crashing of the aircraft whipped up a cloud of dirt. June held on tightly to her steering wheel and stepped on the brake as her car shook. As the shacking stopped and the dirt settled the woman took a few deep breaths. Shaking, June removed her hands from the steering wheel and turned the key to start the cars engine. And then paused.
The aircraft from what June had seen looked high tech. In fact, she had never seen a plane like it before. June wondered if there were even any airports or military bases around this area.
Many humans and bots were surprised to see the woman approaching the spaceship, alone.
Shaking her head, June tried to focus. It wasn't important if there was an airport or something around. What was important was that an aircraft had just crashed landed, that meant that people could be hurt.
Shaking her head and making up her mind the woman put her car into drive and headed in the direction of the fallen aircraft. As she continued to drive, June began to see debris from what must have been the fallen aircraft. While making the drive more difficult it also made finding the plane easier. Finally seeing the aircraft not to far ahead June stopped her car and stared in awe at the object.
She had never seen such an aircraft before and as she stared at it she began to wonder if it was even a plane. "Maybe a space shuttle?" June paused, her hands tightening on the wheel.
"Good guess." Nova gave June a playful smirk, making everyone chuckle at the feisty girl's words.
Making up her mind, June opened her door and exited her car. Leaving the headlights on to give her more light to see her surroundings, June walked over to her trunk and opened it. Pulling out a standard first aid kit and a flashlight, June made her way over to the craft.
Carefully making her way over debris and rock, June reached the craft and walked around it until she found a large hole. "Hel..." She cleared her thoughts and June called out again. "Hello? Can anyone hear me? Um. Is anyone hurt?" June waited a few seconds and only heard silence. She then stepped forward and paused, the inside of the ship was pitched black. Shaking her head, June lifted her flashlight and shone it into the craft. She then started to make her way inside.
Greg and Nova both smiled at the sight, knowing where Jack's instincts had come from.
Making her way inside being careful of looked to be wires on the floor the woman suddenly saw a few flashes light. In the next moment the inside of the ship lit up.
"Wow!" June stared around at her surrounding noticing how high the ceiling was. "There sure is plenty of room in here." But she wasn't looking where she was going when a dark cable was hardly seen in the dark. "Maybe I should..." June started to say to herself, not watching where she was going and tripping over a large cable on the floor.
Falling to the floor, June cried out in surprise dropping both her flashlight and the first aid kit. She accidentally scratched herself onto the three silvery-blue relics that looked like giant coins and with the dull lighting, each of the three relics have unique markings on the surface; One has a marking of a robotic mask. The second one has a head of a stylized feline. Lastly, the third one has a head of a stylized dragon.
"The Gifts of Onyx Prime," whispered Optimus Prime, amazed to see the three ancient gifts were still intact.
Getting up, June dusted herself off and checked herself for injuries. After she had bandaged her arm, she began looking for what she had dropped. Finding her first aid kit not too far away, she reached down and picked it up. As she looked for her flashlight, the woman eventually found it lying next to what looked like a large container of some sort.
Walking over, June sighed and reached down for her flashlight. As she did so, she steadied herself by putting one of her hands on the container only to quickly pull away as she felt a prick to her palm and an electric shock.
"Ow!" The woman yelled in pain and shock as she stared down at her hand.
Looking back over to the container the woman watched in surprise as the area where her hand had been started to glow brightly. From the area several blue electrical lines appeared and started to spread along the container.
"What's that?" Smokescreen asked curiously.
"That usually alerts the ship that an unknown person has came on it," explained Ultra Magnus.
June started to step backwards as she watched the container expand. The woman then turned around and ran jumping over what appeared to be several metal slabs that where bolted to the ground when she seemed to have found the captain's steering room.
June had to squint to make out a hunched over, giant figure against the smoke and cowered a bit further behind the seat. She felt her knees buckle and hands begin to shake as she tried to recompose herself, and after exhaling a heavy breath, she stealthily abandoned her post to get closer to the life form. She narrowed her eyes thoughtfully as she gazed at the figure. His head which should have sported hair seemed to be protected by some helmet that was streamlined. She couldn't help, but think that it resembled an engine block. The joints of his shoulders and ankles held tires. His shoulders were broad like the bumper of a car. His stomach was protected by a slim grill the top part of his chest contain headlights. Upon closer inspection four doors were tightly interlinked making up his back. He was mostly black and seems to be shining blue in the dull lighting, with silver flame patterns on his shoulders, forearms, torso, and legs. His bright blue optics were dimming with both saddened pain and determined courage. But glowing blue stuff was leaking from him heavily.
"Overdrive." Cliffjumper's voice choked with emotion and silent coolant tears running down his cheek-plates. Arcee patted Cliff's shoulder-plate, trying to comfort him.
Jack swallowed, silent tears running down from his face. Greg let out a soundless, raspy sob and Nova sighed mournfully as tears glistened in her eyes.
That's when he spotted her. "Who are you?" The bot's voice was in a hoarse rasp as he spoke to June. "You need to leave before the enemy arrives."
June gasped at that. There's an enemy chasing after him. "Enemy!? I don't understand... Who are you?"
"I'm an Autobot Lieutenant Overdrive from the planet, Cybertron." He hacked, trying to keep Energon from leaking past his denta. "And right now it's my job to keep their relics out of the Decepticons' greedy servos." He quickly picked up the three giant coins and inspected the items of his mission.
But, to his surprise, the three mentioned relics were covered with red blood of the human. "What happened...?" Another more violent cough escaped him spittles of energon flew from his faceplate and coated the relics. Ancient power burned in his grip as radiant lights started blinding the room. Opening his optics, shock marred his faceplate. The relics were gone, in its place he held three tiny sparklings, looking so much like the native femme. "Wha?"
Confusion, agitation, even joy all swirled within Cliffjumper. He was not sure how he felt or how he was truly supposed to feel. His brother, Overdrive, was dead and he had left behind triplet sparklings with unusual secrets. He was not sure how he should respond with such a report. But the spirit of his late brother lives on within Jack, Greg, and Nova. But he felt a burst of love towards the triplets.
"These two are boys and this one's a girl." The gentle gaze of the native femme could see that she has a soft spot for children.
"Well, my mission had suddenly got more complicated." After seeing the fondness in her eyes, a decision was made. "Take them."
"I'm sorry?" The confusion in her voice was clear as her wide eyes looked up to his optics.
"Look, femme, I..." He hacked trying to keep Energon from leaking past his denta.
The triplets and Cliffjumper flinched as they saw him slowly fading away, but is willing take his own safety away to protect his children.
"My name is June," said the femme gently.
"Right. Look a lot has happened in the last ten klicks, and the 'Cons are not even here." Looking around the state of disrepair his ship would never fly again. The crash site outside must have stuck like a rusted digit. Then, there was the unseen terrein to consider. He was at a heavy and large disadvantage by several, with the addition of June and the three sparklings.
"What happens now?" June asked softly.
"In an ideal world, you and I would have three sparklings to raise." He winked at the new carrier.
Cliffjumper smiled faintly at the sight. Overdrive has always been the femme's mech before the war. But the emotions in his optics didn't match his smile.
A shade of crimson encompassed her face as she looked away from the mech that slowly rose to it full height. "But this is not ideal."
"You may not understand this, but you have to protect the little ones." His expression lifting to make way for a look that seemed more imploring. Pleading, even.
"Me?" June whispered as she gazed at the bot and the three hybrids.
"Doesn't matter if it's sparklings or some ancient relics." He hacked trying to keep Energon from leaking past his denta and June winced back. "It's the power the 'Cons are after and we can't let it fall into Megatron's servos."
"Megatron?" June echoed, a clear question in the air.
"Believe me. If that happens, he will hurt them." A single digit pointed down to the three bundles within June's arms.
June didn't think she didn't hesitate she simply declared. "I won't let that happen."
Jack smiled softly. Even though he and his siblings had been with him briefly, they finally got to see him. "So, that was our Sire." His voice was more of a whisper.
Nova smiled despite her tears. "We finally got to see him."
"He's brave and daring, but gentle and caring," whispered Greg with a sad smile.
"They're probably the first Cybertronians to be born in centuries," whispered Ratchet.
"Jack? Greg? Nova?" Cliffjumper's voice was sad and broken, his optics scanning through the crowd. "Where are you three?"
"Right here." Everyone jumped back in surprise as the three techno organics stepping towards the red Autobot. Cliffjumper smiled at the triplets as he gently picked them up and brought them into a gentle, but loving embrace. The triplets smiled as they snuggled up to his chassis, listening to his soothing spark beating.
