Nothing Even Matters- Mrs. Lauryn Hill plays loudly as kids, teenagers, and oldheads interact with each other. Dayvon's grandmother was throwing a simple kickback in the center of where he grew up ParkWay Gardens.
Dayvon sinks further in his seat ignoring the thirsty women that were constantly staring him down. A few tried to make conversation with him by saying 'welcome home' but he wasn't in much of a talking mood.
Not like he ever is
"wassup lil folks," Cinco, one of the older niggas that ran the streets of Chicago says dapping him up
"yo, "Dayvon says dryly. Cinco was the only older nigga that semi-had his respect. Cinco always looked out for the lil niggas in the streets instead of thinking he was better and had more knowledge like most of these niggas out here did.
Dayvon wasn't too fond of Cinco because he was a deadbeat of sorts. Word around the streets Cinco had a son and a daughter but wasn't in their lives because of something that happened with him and his BM. Dayvon didn't want to assume it was him being a deadbeat but he did find it fucked up that he cared for some lil niggas in the streets more than his kids.
"where yo partner in crime at?" Cinco asks referring to Dayvon's best friend Durk
"Had a show in Peoria. Couldn't go cause of this shit" Von says holding up his right leg that had his house arrest band on it
"dayum kid. Trust I know that feeling"Cinco says shaking his head and feeling bad for the younger boy
A group of people walk in the projects making a few people turn to look at them, Dayvon and Cinco being one of them. One of the girls in the group catches Von's attention. He sits back and takes in her appearance. The young light-skinned girl with blonde hair up and down hairstyle wore a light coverage face of makeup, a black dress that had a v cut down the middle, silver and black 1s, and a silver channel purse to match.
Von couldn't ignore the feeling that he knew her from somewhere, her face looked so familiar. Finally noticing the 2 other people in the group he noticed a face that was too familiar. Making eye contact with the seconded girl she waved and sent a warm smile over to him before making her way over to him and Cinco with the other 2 following.
"Hey Von! I haven't seen yo ass in a minute." the girl says. Von continued to try to figure out why the individual girl looked so familiar
durk's ex.
"damn Brook yo ass looks different," Von says catching a few of the people that were watching from a distance off guard. Von looked over at Cinco who was looking at the other two who were having their own conversation.
