Chapter 4

"My god. Why are you such a disappointment?" Sasuke asks, hauling you up again. "You did it once, why can't you do it again?"

You look at Sasuke's eyes, and yank your arm away from him. You and him have been training since dawn, and he's made you try Chidori again. Chidori worked, with the same results as last time

"Stop calling me a disappointment. I just can't get the right chakra." you yell back. Tears begin to form in your eyes, but you wipe them away. You can't let Sasuke see you cry. He told you he wasn't gonna go easy on you.

You've been trying so hard to get the fire chakra, but the rest of it is confusing you and keeping you from doing it.

Sasuke sighs, "Watch closely."

He engulfs his hand in lightning, and slowly, it fades into a fire, "It takes some practice, btu you unlocked the chakras so easily. There's no way you should be having this much difficulty switching through them, especially for a single jutsu. You held all five of them for so long..."

"Shut up..."

After a couple Chidori's, he wanted you to try a Phoenix Flower Jutsu, and you've been at it for the last couple hours.

You try to unearth your fire chakra, but all you're getting right now is your wind style.

Fire rages in you, and you try to channel that fury into the hand signs.

Rat, Tiger, Dog, Ox, Hare, Tiger.

A deep breath and complete lung depletion later, still nothing. Flame weakly burst out of your mouth in the form of a single fireball, and it landed on the grass and sadly fizzled out.

Sasuke looks at you with a look of fury before softening. He pulls you in, placing your head on his chest. He sighs.

"Maybe I've been going too hard on you (Y/N)." he says.

You look up at Sasuke, and he gestures towards camp. You ruffle his hair and bound away before he can get you again. You make your way towards camp, where Kiba and Naruto are pitching the tent, chatting about what they were planning on doing. Sasuke has followed you back, and he makes it known that he doesn't appreciate what you did before you left.

"Maybe I'll show Sasuke the you-know-what." Naruto whispers to Kiba, knocking the nail into the ground.

"I don't know Naruto. You haven't even told Hinata yet. What if she doesn't take it well? You're even planning on raising your children with him, and what do you think will happen if Hinata demands custody rights?"

"I mean, I am the Hokage. But you're right. Maybe we'll adopt." he whispers.

His eyes have a dreamy quality to them, almost as if he's fantasizing the reality of the dream that's close enough to grasp.

Naruto isn't paying attention, and he knocks his thumb with the hammer. Pain and agony flashes across his face, and he sucks on his thumb.

Sasuke rushes over to Naruto. He cups Naruto's face in his hands, and the two stare at each other for a moment.

Sasuke takes Naruto's finger out of his mouth, and watches it, before putting it in his own mouth.

He sucks it for a moment with apparent relish, then he takes it out and wraps a small white bandage around it. Naruto blushes as Sasuke does this, and he beckons you over.

"Come later (Y/N). I have something to discuss."

"ALREADY?" 

Naruto covers your mouth in a hurry, "SHUT UP!"

You sigh and place a hand on your temple, watching as Naruto fidgets with his jacket, crossing his arms, tucking his long bangs behind his ears.  Having watched Boruto, you know the injustice Kishimoto had done to the beautiful Naruto, and are glad his appearance is changing again.

He bites his lip, "I-i Don't know how to ask him. We're both grown men and it might seem awkward to him. He agreed to date me for the time being, but what if he thinks that's awkward too? What if he did it in the heat of the moment? What if-"

You block him off, "Well, based on what I've seen, I can tell he loves you Naruto." You snicker and cover your mouth, "Especially based on what I've seen on the show..."

Naruto blushes and smacks you, "That was completely unintentional!"

You just smile and sit, "Right..."

He brushes his bangs out of his face, growling slightly, "So will you help me or not?"

You sit on a fallen log nearby, leaning on your legs, "Depends on what."

"Uh...."

Don't need to be shy. Spit it out."

I-i need h-help... proposing to him..."

You stay silent for a couple minutes before exploding, "WHAT?!"
