"ARE YOU SERIOUS? WHY would you ask them over??" sean asked hank, crossing his arms. "you both show interest in the same things. plus, you like them, don't you-" hank was interrupted by sean shushing him. "don't say that where they can hear it!" he said, motioning to his bedroom. "i'm just saying, i've created a chance for you to shoot your shot! remember what i taught you on the island?" the stepdad asked. "i'm not doing the 'pec pops of love' or whatever" sean replied. "no, not that- you have to be confident! of course not too confident, but not too less" "that's confusing" "and have you been working on a smolder?" "since when did i have to do that?" "show me your best smolder" hank said.

sean sighed, deciding to humor him. he attempted a smolder. "no, you have to do it like this" hank did a smolder, sean doing another attempt. "you're not good at teaching" "you just gotta do it like this" "i'm trying, it's not working."

sean's bedroom door swung open, startling the stepson. "oh, didn't mean to scare you, sorry" you apologized, holding a small book out to sean. "by the way, i finished looking through the journal, it's pretty cool and intriguing!" you added. sean took the book. "yeah, the island's a pretty cool and intriguing place!" he replied nervously, smiling.

"hey, why don't you show them the stuff in the attic? there's probably some artifacts and such in there" hank suggested as he placed a hand on sean's shoulder. "ooo, what kind of artifacts??" you asked sean, interested. sean and hank exchanged quick glances. "you're welcome" hank mouthed to his stepson, walking off.

"so there were giant bees and small elephants among other mythical creatures?" you questioned, sean nodding in response. yeah, there weren't any actual artifacts, they didn't really bring anything back from their adventures. sean just decided to tell you about his journey to the center of the earth and to the island. "yeah, there were also these large lizards that breathed fire! it was honestly pretty scary" sean added as you leaned against your hand. he began to grow nervous again as you looked at him, waiting for the next part of the story. you were hanging onto every word he spoke. "..and that was basically it! everything else was boring" sean said, suddenly wanting to change the topic.

"i wish i could've been there..your adventures sound fun!" you spoke, frowning a bit. "well, uhm..maybe you can!" "really?" you perked up. "you'd probably have to ask your parents..but if you give me your number, i can tell you when we're planning on going and you can tell me what your parents say" sean explained as you pulled out your phone. "here, you can put your number in" you said, giving it to him. he swiftly put in his number, handing the phone back to you. you smiled, sean smiling back.

"thanks for inviting me over, mr. parsons, even though it was a little unexpected" you spoke as you stood outside of the house. hank chuckled. "it was no problem, you were an amazing house guest" he replied, smiling. "i'll see you around, y/n" sean said, still smiling. you quickly embraced sean, quite happy about earlier. "i'm so excited!" you said as a small blush appeared on sean's face. the two of you hugged for a couple of seconds before pulling away. "have a nice night!" you said, walking to your house.

hank grinned at sean. "well, confidence worked. i got their number" the stepson said as he headed back into the house. "that's my boy" hank muttered to himself, following sean inside.
