Unfortunately, her heart's desire to ignore her father's voice stopped her from stepping right in front of the main door and grabbing the doorknob. If her father not noticed her presence, she could have simply pushed the doorknob open, then could have gone out immediately.
Lazily, Keira turned her body to face her father who was already looking at her with a stern gaze. "I'm going to go meet my friend, Dad."
"But-" "you can go. Have fun, dear."
Diandra cut Nick off while smiling at Keira. Without saying even a single word, Keira just left. She didn't want to waste the opportunity to get away from her sudden marriage problems for a moment.
Yes ... just for a moment. Because afterward, whether want to or not. Whether she liked it or not. She still had to face the arranged marriage.
Keira ran to Gavin's car which was parked in front of her house. The two of them wasted no time and immediately left, to meet Kayla.
Keira's face, which had looked cheerful, was now gloomy again. Along the way, none of them spoke. All that was heard was the sound of car engines and other vehicles passing by on the same road.
Keira turned her gaze to the side of the window and watched the night scene that still looked so busy. Gavin occasionally noticed Keira's face. He knew that the girl sitting next to him was not in a good mood, so he chose to remain silent.
It took about 25 minutes from Keira's house to the place Kayla had arranged for them to meet. Keira and Gavin entered the club as soon as they got out of the car.
"Kei, over here ...!" Kayla waved her hand, welcoming Keira.
Keira, who saw that, immediately approached the girl with Gavin following behind.
"Oh Keira darling... I missed you so damn fucking much."
Kayla hugged Keira's body tightly, releasing the longing that was already passionate about her best friend. Likewise Keira, of course she did the same.
"I missed you too."
"Oh, Gavin. You came too." Kayla said hello.
The hug didn't last long. Now they released each other's embrace and Kayla looked at Gavin who was standing right behind Keira.
"Umm, I was going to ask Keira to met up, but she said she was going to meet you here. So, she invite me."
Don't know what happened to Gavin. His attitude was so different when treating Keira and other girls, like Kayla. He acted a little cold.
"Do you guys see each other often? Or are you even dating?"
Keira's eyes rounded perfectly when she heard the surprising question asked by Kayla. The question was completely unpredictable to Keira, but unlike Gavin, it was as if he knew that at any time, a question like that would definitely be asked to him and Keira.
Maybe it was time, the question came from Keira's best friend who also had a good relationship as a high school friend with him.
Keira was now transfixed, just wordlessly staring at Gavin who was also staring at her.
"I often expressed my feelings to her, but she never gave me an answer, instead she often changed the subject."
Keira didn't really look surprised when she heard what Gavin had said, but she seemed to swallow her saliva with difficulty because she was so nervous.
'I know he loves me so sincerely that I can't give him an answer that would be a rejection. I can't force my feelings. I can't open my heart to Gavin, because there's someone else to fill it and I'm still waiting for that person to come back into my life. Gavin, you know that very well, but why do you keep expecting my love? Sometimes your presence by my side makes me feel happy, but most of the time I feel guilty for not being able to love you back. No matter how often I explain it to you, you still don't stop loving me. I'm so grateful for your sincere love. I hope that one day, Gavin can stop loving me and find someone who can love him sincerely and live happily,' Keira's thought.
