"There is no way in hell I'm leaving this gym." Takeda said.
"Someone has to go!" Kageyama said.
"I'll go!" Ukai said hesitantly. "I'm the one who suggested it anyways."
"No way! You're probably the strongest one here! We can let you get eaten!" Daichi shouted.
"If I'm the strongest then there's less a chance I'll get eaten! We're gonna need to leave eventually. There's no food, no water, and the doors don't lock properly!"
"Ukai are you sure this is a good idea?" Takeda asked anxiously. "I mean, you don't know how many of them are out there."
"I'll make sure the coast is clear." Ukai said standing up. He walked over to the window and jumped up to see outside. "Oh for fucks sake. They swarmed the club room."
"You said they were attracted to noise right?" Suga asked.
"Yeah."
"Well before you got here we heard a faint alarm sound coming from there, it was probably the alert you were talking about."
"Takeda."
"Yes?"
"I might need you to lead them away."
"No way! Absolutely not! How the hell do you even expect me to do that?!"
"Look out that window over there and see how many are outside." Takeda sighed and got up. Once he was at the window he looked outside.
"There's a few roaming around, but they're not really close to the door."
"I might know a way you can distract them without leaving the gym." Noya suddenly said.
"How?" Ukai asked moving closer to the group.
"What if he takes one of the volleyballs and throws it at the vending machine?"
"Not bad kid!" Ukai said patting Noya on the back. "Go find a good one in the closet." A minute later Noya walked back out with a ball in his hands.
"This good enough?"
"Looks like it. Alright you and Takeda make sure it's clear to open the door. Daichi come over here. Once I open the door I need you to close it, and Tsukkishima watch the window so that when I run back Daichi knows to open the door again." Everyone went to their positions and Noya gave the thumbs up for Takeda to open the door and throw the ball. He threw towards the vending machines and heard a loud thud right before he closed the door.
"Ukai go!" Tsukkishima said as he watched the things outside shuffle towards the noise. Daichi closed the door quickly and sighed with relief. Tsukkishima watched closely as Ukai ran up the stairs and into the clubroom. After a few minutes Ukai cautiously emerged from the clubroom and started sprinting towards the gym. "Open it!" Tsukkishima called as Ukai grew closer. Daichi opened the door and Ukai ran in throwing the bags causing them to slide towards where the team was sitting.
"Nice work guys!" Ukai said trying to catch his breath.
"How many bags did you get?" Suga asked.
"All of 'em. You're lucky I didn't send Takeda, he wouldn't have been able to carry all that!" Ukai said trying not to laugh at his own joke.
"Very funny Ukai." Takeda said as Ukai's laugh started to grow louder, along with most of the team's. Hinata ran over to wear Ukai had dropped the bags and slid across the floor to get his.
"Can you get mine too?" Kageyama asked. Hinata didn't respond verbally, but instead by grabbing Kageyama's bag and sliding it to him. "Thanks." Hinata grabbed his phone, tears slowly streaming down his face. He saw text messages and voicemails left by his mom. As he started trying to contact her the rest of the team got up and ran to do the same. Suddenly a loud cry was heard from within the group. Ukai and Takeda ran over. They saw Suga holding onto a crying Kageyama, Hinata was crying too.
"What happened?!" Ukai asked anxiously.
"His mom! She was, she died while on voicemail." Hinata said choking on his words. The rest of the team was filled with sorrow, worried for their teammate, and scared the same thing could've happened to their loved ones.
