"Have you still not heard from him" Nasrin asks.
"No" I sigh adding more paint to the canvas in front of me. Painting is my therapy when everything else fails. This week has been one of those weeks where we've had multiple tests in school and a lot of stress with the grades. Now the tests are all done and all we can do is wait.

"Where's the father figure?" Nasrin puts her red bag on the bed. She's late today. She's been late a lot this week.
"Out, he applied perfume and left"
"Isn't it a little predictable boning your secretary?"
"Administrative assistant" I correct her. "It's not her, it was someone with long red hair that picked him up"
"Who's she?"
"I don't know yet"
"I'm not ready for a stepmom" She dramatically points out. "We have it so good now, no rules, no one to stop us"

"Just the paternal character leaving us not realizing that we need to eat every now and then"
"Yes, but now we have the account set up in the grocery store linked to his business account, that was a genius move"
"Well, he can't very well refuse to pay it when the invoice goes to the financial department at his company. And he doesn't dare to close it"
"I'm so proud of you, my mastermind genius"

"Why are you so late home?" I ask, knowing that she sneaks of to see Martin next door. She doesn't want to tell me, but I've seen them together. Martin was my first crush, before I decided never to fall in love. He's two years older than me and has probably never looked at me in that type of way. It bothers me that she's just not being honest and telling me straight up. I'd rather hear it from her than from someone gossiping about it.
"I talked to Mona, we can get 5% of any tickets we sell to the club"
"5%, that's nothing!"
"Which is exactly why I suggested that we get 20% and don't involve Magnus" She smiles with contempt.
"Keep it a secret from him?"
"Yes, she took the deal"
"Ouff, she must be so mad at him"

"Wouldn't you, if you married someone and it turned out that they had debts so large that there's no end to them?" Nasrin packs out her books from the bag.
"I'll never be in that situation, if I ever get married it won't be for love"
"Your impossible" She sighs. "Damn, I forgot my notebook" She hurries away.
"Say hi to Martin from me!" I yell. Inside me jealousy tries to surface. I'm not sure if it's Martin or if it's just the fact that she now has someone in her life to love and med loved by. It creates a different dynamic between us. I try to pour my frustration out on the canvas instead and create a whimsical meadow.
