Mended Hearts

Part XXV

Determined to talk with Wendy about everything she had just witnessed and in hopes of explaining things to her in a proper way, Stan started following his girlfriend through the hallway that led from the school gym all the way to the school entrance, although the teenage girl seemed to have been somehow much quicker on her feet and it hadn't taken her that long to leave him behind.

''Wends, wait up!'', Stan shouted as he tried to catch up with Wendy, but she continued walking ahead without sparing a single glance at him and eventually walked outside through the main school entrance, leaving him just standing there and feeling utterly dejected – especially knowing that this was all due to how he had been acting towards her tonight and her seeing him talking to Melissa in a surprisingly friendly manner, which must've definitely contributed to the raven haired beauty getting so upset at him.

After Wendy had disappeared from his line of sight, Stan sighed sadly, but not before he jumped slightly on the spot and heard someone calling for him, which caused him to turn around and see none other than Bebe standing only a few feet away from him.

The curly blonde seemed to have been equally as confused as Stan about what the hell had just happened between him and Wendy, causing her to also look after her best friend and a more worried expression to now spread across her face.

''Hey Stan, is everything alright between you and Wendy?'', Bebe asked him curiously, noticing that Stan wasn't looking particularly chipper at the moment. ''What happened? Did you guys have a fight or something?''

Stan hesitated to answer for a few seconds, before shaking his head. ''No, but I think I fucked things up with her big time.''

Bebe looked at him incredulously. ''Well, what makes you think that?''

The teenage boy sighed deeply, before proceeding to explain everything that had happened between him and Wendy over the past couple of days, starting from the time Wendy had told him about the encounter she had had with Melissa and all the lies his ex-girlfriend had told to her that day, concluding up with her last words and everything he had told Wendy during their argument.

''Earlier, Melissa walked up to me and wanted to apologize for everything she's done to me. Initially, I didn't really believe her and thought she was just trying to manipulate me for one more time and somehow get into my head with more of her usual lies, but she actually surprised me and apologized to all the shit she did in our relationship and how badly she treated me.'', Stan revealed further. ''I thought things would be okay, but then Wendy saw me talking to Melissa and acting friendly towards her for once, and I guess she then got all upset about it, but rightfully so actually; I haven't exactly been the best boyfriend to her ever since we had that whole argument, and haven't been the most romantic one tonight either.''

The whole time Stan was speaking, Bebe listened intently and appeared to be genuinely concerned about what her best friend and her boyfriend had gone through over the course of the past two, almost three days. She could definitely see why her friend was so distraught right now, and even though she couldn't entirely agree with the way he had been acting towards Wendy and him basically giving her a cold shoulder, she understood him and the way he had reacted.

''I'm sure she must've just misunderstood something, you know?'', Bebe responded.

Stan ran a hand down the side of his face, letting out a faint sigh. ''Well, I just wanna' talk to Wendy and clear things up, because I really don't want to lose her or allow our relationship go to shit ever again.''

The blonde girl gave Stan a sympathetic look. ''Stan, I know you love Wendy more than everyone can probably imagine, and you guys have been a thing since third grade! I just know you guys will be able to talk things out and reconcile.''
