The sun was slowly setting and the light was slowly vanishing from the outskirts of Solaria. So was happening to the light falling onto the opened window in the burnt palace from Lien's room. The trembling hands of Terror slowly pressed the start button of the laptop- the only thing on the table. He was nervous for some reason. Never has Terror ever thought of being afraid while opening a laptop.
Lien's laptop was simple just like him. There was nothing except two files on it. <Memory> the first one read, the other one read, <Momento>. He clicked on the first file after a long time of pause. Some pictures flashed through the screen. It would be an understatement to say his eyes only swept over those pictures. He clicked on each of them, took his precious time to engrave them onto his memory. His memory is, after all, of the finest quality. Those were the pictures of Terror in his days of academy. At every occasion of the academy, his candid or his not-bad pictures were taken. 'So he was in the photography club?' Terror was tutored by Lien, yet he didn't even know how Lien's academy life went. His every picture turned out beautiful. But, there was hardly any single photo of Lien or a photo of them together. The only photo he could find where he and Lien was in the same frame, was the most recent picture- the picture of the academy graduation. But in that frame too, they were so distant. Lien was at front, alone and not really smiling, holding the certificate and being the short and top student he was, while Terror was at the last row, tall and not holding the certificate, having fun, standing and smiling with his friends. He was looking at the photo where he couldn't find a single relation with Lien when he was startled feeling a wet sensation on his cheeks. He touched and figured out they were tears. Never since his teenage years had he shed a single tear. He thought tears were the markings of the weak. He can not be weak. He had to be the strong and perfect alpha everyone wanted him to be. He pushed away the thorn or so he thought, by his side and chose Mitch, no, Deina Rorrers whom he thought of as a savior. Mitch and Terror met three years ago during a stormy-rainy night. At that time, they were with a war, which, as Terror later learnt, all staged, with the night rebels and he was badly hurt. Had the person who rushed to him at the right time, did not save him, he would have died. He thought it was Mitch, no, Deina, the one who saved him. But he was wrong, time and time again. Based on the file on Lien, it stated he was even injured while saving him at that time. Why hadn't he noticed back then? Why didn't he took a little more interest in Lien? Why had he gone and jumped to conclusion like that? Suppressing his ugly sobs, he clicked on the momento file. The file was a handwritten letter.
It stated:
"Hello, to whoever was kind enough to actually open this piece of junk and click on this. This file really doesn't contain any secrets, it's just my thoughts. So if you don't want to read it, I will advice you to please close the tab and leave it. Well, if you are still here and reading this, maybe I'm no longer in this world. But hey, nothing probably changed and the sun still sets and rises. I have been counting my days of when I don't have to see tomorrow's sun. But I really liked staying by the side of the person I loved. He was really handsome, sexy and of course has a nice aura all round him. I grew up with my brothers and sisters so I'm pretty stubborn. That's why, even when I knew he didn't really like being around me, I still lingered around, creating precious memories. Those memories urged me to keep on living. I wanted to be his strength just like he is my strength and protect him from any danger. I don't want the cruelty of this world to hurt him. But I couldn't be his hope and his reason to live. He has someone else in his heart. As much as it breaks my heart to imagine him with someone else, all I wish for him is happiness.Okay, wait. I need a moment to calm my aching heart. All these talk is really sad. I'll continue in a bit.If you love somebody, sometimes you have to let go to make your love happy and to make yourself happy. You know how a mosquito knows it will die after sucking blood, but still sucks blood anyways for its precious babies to see the light of this world? Maybe love is something like that. You know you will fall in the abyss but you still do because it's way too precious to abandon. I have lived, loved and fought. I was really happy. I hope my love of life is happy too. If there is a next life, I wish I find someone who loves me just like how I love them. Well that concludes it. If you are still here, then, well thanks for reading my useless blabber, my friend."
Terror looked at the emoticon after the word, 'friend', the emoticon was of the smiling-with-blush one. He could picture Lien like that. After all, he was the only one Lien would show a little blush in his cheeks while talking to. He looked at the emoticon for a long time with eyes where no light could be found. The room was dark now. The sun has already set and night began. Maybe when the sun was gone, it took Terror's life with it, never to be found again. Terror closed the laptop, took it in his hands and walked towards the exit of the burnt up palace. He stood outside of it. Cold wind blew over his face. It was still summer, but Terror could already feel cold. He looked at the sky, stars shining down on him. Has the angel like pretty Lien became a star like he has been told when young? Is Lien looking at him from above? Another gush of wind blew and his dark hair fluttered, "I miss you," he mumbled, "Please come back," he fell to the ground, but his eyes still looking at the stars, the only memo of Lien held tightly in his arms, "I'm sorry, please," tears rushed out of his eye sockets. He can't see the stars through his blurry vision but still looking up, he pleaded.
But as we all know, God ignored his plea.
