' In the End '

You guys did it, in your power, you all defeated the rumbling. Erwin and Hange would have been so so proud of you guys. Everyone was panting, Reiner and Annie got out of their titan form and Armin quickly ran to catch Annie.

She was breathing hard and gave Armin a smile, reassuring him that she was fine. Jean and Connie ran to Reiner, patting him on the back. "You know I still hate you but regardless you are my brother", Jean giving him the ugliest smile which made Reiner chuckled.

And you? You were wiping off your seat, the titans collapsing, but your concern was Levi. Where was he? Armin screamed, making you look behind. It was Mikasa, holding Erens head.

Everyone stopped their movements and froze, and although each of them somewhat dislike Eren, they will remember him as the goofiest strongest boy. Armin screamed, crying. Not convinced this was real.

Mikasa flashed you weak smile, you gave her a smile back. You walked up to her, sadden by the news, sadden by everything. "Where's Levi?", you asked as you looked around.

Mikasa gasp loud, broke down, getting on her knees. You flinched, confusion was the word. "Y/n... I.. I was close to save him but a titan threw him somewhere.. I don't even know where and I wasted my gas..".

Silence, nothing but pure silence. A tear dropped, your hands stopped. Your heart started beating fast, you genuinely hoped she was joking. But she wasn't. She gave you a serious look, indicating that it is true.

Slowly getting on your knees, you held on Armins shoulder. Panic attack. They didn't even realize until you started breathing harder. The person you kept moving on, living, breathing, holding on was gone.

Armin realized and held you softly, "breathe y/n, breathe". Of course this made it worse, only because you remembered that one conversation with Levi.

"You think we will live in a small house, sip tea, have children? Grow old together once this is over with?", you looked at that beautiful sunset.

He looked at you, chuckling softly. "Of course, if it means risking my life to have that, then yeah". You smiled, suddenly got tickled by Levi.

"Stop it stop it!", you pleaded as you kept laughing and so was he..

Everyone was at the infirmary place, there wasn't enough doctor, but one doctor was good at the things he did. It was Nile, Erwin's best friend. He heard the news, but didn't say anything because he knew his best friend too well.

Everyone sat outside while Nile was helping out Levi and others that had bad injury. Playing with your fingers, shaky legs, you didn't even know what to do.

Lydia held your hands, softly and hoping her son would be alive as well. Reiner and Annie was talking, everything in general. What she missed out, the old times. Oh, can't forget about Zeke. Even though Levi did get him, he wasn't partially dead.

He was just unconscious for a very very long time.

After some time Nile came out, you and Lydia stood up, walked faster up to him. "So? How's my son Nile? Please?", she pleaded, holding your hands even tighter. Nile sighed, looking down and then looked at your eyes.

"I am sorry to say, unfortunately it was a horrible injury. Due to that, he sadly passed away".

Lydia screamed out loud, you let her hand go and pushed Nile to see Levi. Reiner saw and ran and grabbed you, "Y/n please, breathe, please. I'm sure Levi doesn't want to see you like this please ".

Nile gave sad eyes, you weren't crying, you were paralyzed. It's true, you didn't want Levi to see you like this but you can't stop. You desperately needed him.

Grabbing you tighten, you stopped. That's when you fully break down, couldn't stop crying and all Reiner could do was pat your back.

The others watched, felt genuinely sorry for you. Because you lost a lover, best friend, captain at once.

Nile walked back, insisted the doctors to cover the blanket on his face. Now you realized, he was no longer here anymore.

Everyone had each turn to talk to Levi, so they could feel ease once they do. When it was your turn, you sat on a chair.

"I certainly hope this isn't some joke", you chuckled lightly and continued, "but it's hurting me. I don't know how to continue this. What about the plans we made for the future?".

Breaking down each word you say, because you couldn't handle this anymore. You certainly didn't wanna lift the cover off his face, but you do at the same time to see that gorgeous face for the last time.

"I'm going to miss you a lot, and I swore to you I will avenge you one way or another", "your my best friend, my lover".

"I'll always love you no matter what".

Taking the cover off his face, you cried more. You kissed his soft lips for the last time, putting the cover back on, you left the room.
