The day I met him...that total dumbass...it changed me forever.
No, really, I have a cool-ass scar on my face now. All thanks to him.
The day I got to punch him for it was the best day of my goddamn life. But, I digress. I'm getting way ahead of myself...11 years ago
I felt on top of the world as I climbed higher and higher, each bar stinging with cold underneath my hands. Birdsong was loud in my ears, and trees rustled softly in the wind. My younger sister waits for me at the bottom of the climbing frame, her freckled face showing hesitance and fear.
"Sephyyy!" She whined. "I'm scared! I don't want to fall." She took a step back from the large-in-comparison play equipment, and I roll my eyes.
"Kanako...you have wings. You're not gonna fall." I respond, heaving myself to the very top. The sun beams into my eyes, so I shield them for a moment as I sit with my legs swinging down through the metal, and look around at the park surrounding me. My sister huffs, but eventually climbs up after me.As she makes it to the top (finally), she shakily and cautiously sits down beside me, holding onto the frame as if it was life itself. "This isn't fair...why are you so good at this?" She asks, glancing over at me as she tries to find a position to sit in.
"Maybe because I'm not stupidly scared."
"That's mean, Sephy!"
"Whatever..." I mumble.Once Kanako finally stabilises herself, I untuck her wings (which she was sitting on) from under her. I playfully shove her on the shoulder. "Y'know, for a moth girl, you sure don't like heights." I comment, sleepily putting my head in my palm.
"It's so not my fault! I'll get better at it one day...my quirk only just got here." She retorts, fiddling with her antenna. I snicker.
"Yeah, one day, ya idiot." She smiles and giggles, which only makes me roll my eyes again.
"Hey, if you switched quirks with me, do you think you'd get my wings too?" She asks, a curious glimmer in her eyes.
"What, and turn purple as well? I don't think so. I'm not really sure how my quirk works just yet..." I sigh, watching as the wind blows around us, making Kanako grab the bars tighter.
"I'm not purple!" She exclaims, a stupid pout on her face.
"Oh yeah? What are you then?"
"I'm definitely blue!"
"...No, you're purple."
"Nu-uh!"
"Yeh-huh."
"Nu-uh!"
"Mmmhm." I smirk at her, satisfied that I was annoying her this much. She crosses her arms, but squeals when she almost topples over and grabs onto me."But hey! At least I'd get your bubbles if we swapped. They're so fun!" She grins widely, yelping again as I push her off of me.
"They're not fun! They're dangerous, and cool as hell." I protest, crossing my arms and smirking proudly. "I bet I won't even need to swap them most of the time, because I'll kick anyone's butt regardless of their stupid quirk." Kany giggles yet again.
"Even me?"
"Especially you, even with your dumbass clouds and wings." I tease her.
"Hey, don't say that! It's a bad word, Yamaadad told me it's mean!" I'm about to retort, when a group of kids our age, who I hadn't previously payed mind too suddenly caught my attention."Why are you being so mean?" I hear one of the kids snivel down below. "You're making him cry, Kacchan!" The green-haired boy lifts his fists in a fighting stance, but doesn't look all that brave. "If you keep on hurting him...Uhh...I'll, uh...I'll stop you myself!" I'm about to start wondering what the heck he's going on about, when I notice the crying boy he's protecting, who'd fallen behind him. Then, the three boys who stood in front of the two, one speaking up after a moment.
"You don't stand a chance without a quirk...Deku." The blond smirks, hitting his fist to his palm as a small explosion erupts from his hand. The boy supposedly named "Deku" gasps in fear, still sobbing.
