Near the metkayina clan that the sullys would soon seek uturu in, lived siren like creatures who lived peacefully with the metkayina. For the most part.
The metkayina knew what the species was like, and what they could do. They knew of the damage they could cause and were always weary, but kept the connection.
Of this species was a girl, y/n. She and the metkayina kids met each other and became close as they'd explore the ocean together.
Y/n at times was scared of herself and her species. Of things she herself had done. But she tried to hide them and control what she could. She most feared when eclipse would come, knowing that was when she'd lose control.
She would wake and remember something she had done the night before and always wished she had control. Though sometimes she used her powers on purpose for her benefit and for others.
One thing she was proud of was her species helping the sea animals. Mostly the tulkun. This was a reason for the bond with the metkayina. They had helped many tulkun get away from hunters and took down many hunting weapons humans used.
She led her life as normal as possible, but that soon changed when unexpected guests came to the ocean.
