Cody (Sept 3, 2024) - 

I walked through the main school doors, clutching the straps of my backpack like a Disney channel kid.

"Hey Cody over here!" I hear yelled over the noise of students flocking around their friends.

I looked around before finally noticing my boyfriend waving his arms, trying to get my attention.

"Trent!" I exclaimed, pushing people away to get to him. "Hey" I said, out of breath (there were a lot of ppl ok)

"Hey." he said, smiling at me. I smiled back, noticing the people around him. Heather stood next to her bestie Alejandro. Duncan had his arm around his boyfriend, Harold. And Beth was also there.

"What's up guys." I said.

"Nothing much, what about you?" Trent responded, as I was about to answer. Gwen's voice crackled over the loudspeaker. 

"Hello everyone and welcome to your first day of school! I'm Gwen and/or Heath. I use she/he pronouns and I will be your announcer this year. Today's Monday, September 1st, 2023 and also an A Day. We will have assembly today during lunch, where Principal McLean will welcome you all and talk a bit about Student Council Elections, so if you plan to run. Start working on your campaigns. I also happen to be looking for another person to help with the daily announcements. So if you want to help with the morning announcements please talk to Vice Principal Blaineley. That's all for now, have a great day!"

"Shit, I need to that." Heather said

"Do what?" Alejandro and Beth asked

"Talk to Mildred." she answered "I emailed her over the summer, but I need to actually talk to her in person."

"Well, I can go with you after the assembly?" Duncan offered

"Sure! Thanks Duncan"

The bell rang, ending our conversation and we all headed to our separate classes. I checked my schedule, but I didn't have a class with Trent.

I opened the door to science class and took a seat next to my friend Noah.

"Hey Slim Jim!" I said, playfully elbowing him

"Hello there Gap." he responded, looking at his book.

"Whacha reading there?" I asked. For some reason, I've always felt drawn to Noah. No idea why, he's kind of an asshole. But if you get to know him. He's a sweet asshole.

"I'm reading a book."

"Yeah, but what's it about?"

"....Things."

"Sounds cool." I clasped my hands together and looked around to see if any other of my friends were there. I noticed Kitty and enthusiastically waved to her. She waved back, then turned back to continue talking to the girl sitting next to her. She was tall, had purple hair, and wore a terribly matching outfit.

The teacher walked in, sat her stuff down, and began to talk in a nasally, bossy voice.

"Hello class, my name is Mary and I am your new science teacher. Today's class will be an introduction, each one of you will say your name, pronouns, and your favorite color. You first." She pointed to Gwen.

"Oh, hi there. I'm Gwen/Heath, the person you heard do the announcements earlier. I use she/he pronouns and my favorite color is midnight blue."

Mary nodded, pointing to Heath's table mate.
