THE WATER LOOKED ESPECIALLY COLD THAT MORNING!
Something had drawn Cherry to the lake, but the girl's aversion to water kept her a few feet from the edge. She studied her reflection, before returning to her previous thoughts.
She'd always had an easy time figuring people out, and her newfound abilities gave her total accuracy. Percy was scared, of course, he would be. He was grieving and not used to his environment, lashing out was an expected reaction.
Which is why Cherry held her tongue every time the blond made a stupid comment towards her.
As nice as she was, there was a difference between being sweet and being a pushover. She was the goddess of human nature, not the goddess of kindness.
Percy didn't see the situation with the same rationality Cherry did.
He hated everything about his current situation, and she was the worst part of it all. He didn't hate her, though. He couldn't hate her, he didn't know her. It was just a mild irritation.
There were a lot of things he hated, though. He hated how people looked at him like he was some sort of wild animal. He hated how Cherry looked at him the same way. He hated that people whispered about him. He hated not knowing things.
The red-haired girl broke out of her thoughts when someone shoved her shoulder.
She looked up, only seeing the back of Percy as he stormed off, probably back towards the Hermes cabin.
There was something wrong with him, Cherry determined, and she wanted to help, no matter the cost, no matter the amount of times she was pushed away and denied.

Chiron pounded his hoof against the marble floor of the pavilion, and everybody fell silent. "To the gods!" He raised his glass, and the campers followed.
Cherry took a seat at the Aphrodite table, which confirmed Percy's earlier suspicions. She was a child of Aphrodite, but she was also a god, which had to mean she had another godly parent, right?
