Two weeks later, Hea was sitting alone in her office at work and thinking hard.
After she had gotten that letter the day when she returned to work, the company would keep sending her a friendly reminder about their invitation.
She was frustrated, yes. But mainly because she didn't know what to do.
Should she accept it or deny it?
It was great that a foreign company came to know them and their work but a foreign company as big as that? And a company that was known to never do business with Koreans...
So why them?
What made her and Jimin so special?
She contemplated on what to do but she couldn't come up with anything.
Hea was going crazy.
Her phone buzzed causing her look up and see yet another text from Jimin. She sent him home early after much persistence from his stubborn self to stay, and now he texted her every twenty minutes to ask if she was okay and when she was coming home.
It warmed her heart, and she couldn't help but smile. If it was anyone else, she would've gotten even more frustrated, but this was Jimin. Her husband.
After replying, telling him to go to bed and that she'll be home in the next thirty minutes, she called her best friend.
On the first ring he picked up with a groan.
"What is it you want?"
Hea heard his muffled voice over the phone. She had just woken him up and while he'd probably kill her, she needed advice.
"Hey." Was all she said, and she heard shuffling.
"Hey, what's going on? You okay?" Yoongi's voice was now clearer and full of worry.
"Yea kind of. So remember that invitation letter I told you I got earlier?"
"Mhm, what's up about it?"
"Well I did some research and it's from this big company in America and don't get me wrong, it's nice they want to include us in their little party and do a business collab but according to some sources, they hated doing business with any Asians at all."
The man hummed as he understood his friend's dilemma. "And you're wondering what makes your company an exception? You're worried about risking it."
The silence then long sigh from the other line told him he was right.
"Listen Hea. I know that you're scared because you both built this business from scratch and to lose it, would be devastating but what if this is a good thing. What if someone finally noticed your hard work? I'm not on their side but what I will tell you, is talk about it with Jimin. I get that you still want to protect him but he's your husband and also the co-owner, and I think he should have a say."
Hea listened to his words, and she knew he was right. She couldn't defy him because he would reach to where she was and slapped some sense into her for being stubborn.
So, the woman thanked him, saying she'll follow his advice.
"Good. Now go home to your man while I go back to bed with mine."
Hea chuckled and they ended the call.
She quickly packed her stuff and drove home. Despite it being almost midnight, the traffic was heavy, and Hea really had time to think.
She decided that she would bring this up with Jimin in the morning and get his opinion. If he said go, they'd go. But she would make sure that her guards were up.
When Hea reached home, parked her car in the garage and entered the house, she was surprised to hear the distant sound of talking in the living room.
It couldn't be that Jimin was still up? But that wasn't his voice. Who exactly was in her house?
When she got closer and saw the scene, her heart melted.
All of the worries from earlier vanished at the sight of her husband fast asleep on the chair and the tv running their favourite show.
He must've been waiting for her.
That made her feel a little guilty as she sat next to him and kissed his forehead.
She observed him and he stirred. How could she even let any harm come to him?
Right then, she promised herself again. She wouldn't let anyone touch him. She wouldn't let anyone harm him. And she swore if they did, she would make them regret it.
Jimin sat up and immediately smiled.
"You're here?"
"You really didn't have to wait, Love."
He began to speak but yawned instead causing her to feel even more guilty.
"Nope. Don't give me that face." He ordered her. "I did it because I love you, and because I love you, I will be the one carrying you to bed tonight."
"Jimin, you're barely awake. I think both of us will go tumbling back down the stairs." She joked softly, at his attempt to try to make her feel better.
"Well then we cuddle here, no questions asked."
She opened her mouth to protest, Jimin sat on her lap and pushed her down on the large couch, his legs straddling her slightly taller frame, in case she decided to do an uno reverse.
He now was laying cuddling her while giggling quietly. She shook her head but hugged him back like he'd disappear and closed her eyes.
In no time, both of them were out cold from exhaustion.
Aunt Lily who woke up to get water sometime later saw the sight and chuckled, shaking her head.
"These two stubborn people." She muttered to herself.
The woman got her phone and took a picture of her children while grinning.
Then she covered them with a blanket, took off the tv and went back to her room.
